Italian brands hats

Here are two hats by Giuseppe Cambiaghi, directly from the 1920s, with all the characteristics of hats made in that city and destined for export.

The magnificent felt in wool and black for both, there is a slight variation, visible in bright light, but the texture of the felt and the color is 95% the same.

Both have windproof drawcord and anchor points to hold the ribbon in place.

They are flawlessly finished and destined for a high quality market.

I was happy and lucky to find two "Giuseppe Cambiaghi" in these magnificent conditions after about a hundred years of life. The lady who sold them to me only knew they were a gift for her father, but they were never worn because they weren't his size. The photos were two and very unrepresentative, but you could understand the two hats were old and well kept, I took a risk knowing I was going to meet something good. Arrived and discarded I had a great satisfaction. The hats are slightly different cufflinks. The wool felt is of excellent quality as are the finishes and the sweatband with embossing is fantastic. They were probably high end hats, perhaps for export, but a great satisfaction knowing that the hats made in Monza are difficult to catch on the market.

As can be seen from the labels, the color names are the same as those of Borsalino (Dattero in this case), as well as the shapes and finishes, but in a period of war between the Italian brands of hats to circumvent the prohibitions and reach higher quotas. market pretended to be English

Thanks Steve! I try to do my best to collect and show and, sometimes, sell Italian hats.
Producers like Barbisio, Vanzina, Cervo and Panizza are more and more rare to find because they stopped production many years ago and the vintage market seems to forget them.
I have two source for medium and tiny heads size with some interesting new/old stock of these producers.
Let me know if someone is interesting.

Apart from this one being a nice quality "stingy" from one of Italy's finest, but often underrated hat makers, it's also part of my collection of hats from Petitgas, the oldest, still in existence hat shop in Denmark. Whenever I see a hat for sale with the Petitgas mark on it, I pull the trigger

It has been too long since we've seen that one, Alan. Already a beautiful hat from the outside, but the liner brings it to the next level.
