This thread got 1337 replies and 99370 views in just under three years.
There are no thread in all of "General Attire" with that much traffic that are not at least 10 years old, most are much older.
If you move that thread it will die...
Most of the Outerwear crowd never goes to the other forums, i know i have never looked at "General Attire" in the 8 years i have been a member.
It will stay where it is. When I made that post, I didn't realize that it was an established thread. Should have known that, but just wasn't paying attention. That is what you guys are for—to keep me from making mistakes.

Matching colours makes sense but same exact leather between jacket and boots imho is a bit heavy and I’d rather mix it up. I can’t see though a tan leather jacket working well with shiny black boots for instance.

I did start this thread because I needed advice on what shoes to get that would fit the jackets, I am currently at this stage

Western boots with 70s jacket :)

I would say that very different hides are also a way to avoid being too matched, what do you guys think?

I think the roam trainers from Brass Tokyo are also a good option, the colour on these was my custom choice :)

Damn your thedi looks cool. So does the east west, and all the others. All great outfits!

I think the burgundy of the east west would also look great with a pair of black boots.

I think you make a good point here. I used to perfectly match my leathers. I wouldn't wear a pair of shoes or boots if I didn't have a perfectly matching belt. I even matched my duffle bags, watch strap, bill fold and what have you. A couple of years ago I realized my outfits were too much polished. Too much perfection. Everything so perfect it simply became boring. Some examples View attachment 271530 View attachment 271531

Now I like to mix and match a bit more. Of course I'd never wear black shoes with a brown jacket but seal brown boots with a russet brown jacket can make a great, playful outfit. I think the Italians actually have a word for it: 'sprezzatura'.
what about the dirty white walls?

Does not the General Attire & Accouterments forum have enough boot and shoe threads for the gentlemen and ladies who hang there? IMO, if someone has a burning desire to see footwear matched with jackets they can come over to the outerwear forum.
