I would suggest the RMC or the Himel Kensington. IMO those are the two best looking cafe racers out there. If you truly want a J-100, go with the RMC. I actually like the design of the Kensington more myself, but it's your jacket.

I like the RMC looks wise. But my desire to drop that kind of coin on a CR is long gone. Not that there's anything wrong with doing so, but I just find the reasonably priced vintage CR's more satisfying and soulful. They already have the proper worn look, and usually the comfortable thinner weight hides appropriate for the style.

it does feel a little tight in the chest, but it'll work :)

Need to find me a black one as well.

The fit looks great to me in the chest, shoulders, and the length. The sleeves may be a bit short, an inch or so. That said I have seen others wearing jackets with that sleeve length. As I'm also looking at RMC buco j-100, I'm curious about your height? I'm six foot and hence looking at the size 42.

Yeah, I've come to a similar view. I prefer not to drop much coin on jackets and clothing as a general principle. The repops always seem to be tribute jackets in some way. They are better made than the originals, but not as much fun to my taste. However, I think some of the new Vansons still retain the feel of originals, but this is an unscientific, aesthetic judgement. The problem with the Vansons for me are they are too heavy. I prefer a light, 2.5 oz hide.
