Aero COVID waiting times - 1930's Slimfit

Thanks for that! Wasn’t sure how widespread the new regulations would be. I will keep my small glimmer of hope for wearing my midnight blue V2 over this coming winter alive!

The lockdown regulations come under 'devolved' matters, and so are done at the level of each of the UK's constituent nations. Scotland has certainly got strict rules, but so far doesn't seem to be having quite the same level of difficulty with the second wave as England.

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. I've had a hunt through the archives to see if this had been covered, but couldn't find anything.

Made my order last week on an Aero 1930's Slimfit (Cordovan CXFQHH) and I'm now like a wee lad waiting on Christmas day for it to arrive. I'm not one to pester craftspeople, so I wanted to check if anyone in this community had ordered custom from Aero during COVID to see if the 10-12 waiting time is accurate.

I've seen some gents wearing their 1930's Slimfit on this forum and was totally sold by the excellent reviews and great images, so thanks for the reinforcement!

I put in my order through Thurston Bros in the US and was told 10-12 weeks at the beginning of September. Honestly, with all the COVID issues facing us, I do not expect to see it anytime this winter and I am n9t stressing. More concerned about everyone’s wellbeing over there.

Stay healthy all. I can put off looking like a rock star in my new Seven for a few more months.

Could you tell me why not direct order?
  • They are the official US stockist for Aero
  • They are excellent in terms of service
  • They know how to master a fit for any body type
  • Fit Jacket service
  • One price paid - no extra fees/customs, etc
  • Support a local entity in the process
This is only a partial list. Plus Aero do not accept Pay Pal or the major US-based credit card I use. Most of thier Off the Rack offerings have too short of sleeves and torso/back lengths for me. If you are in North America (which you are apparently not - being in Germany) you might save $50 or so by the time it is all said & done going direct. Not worth it for me. I had the pleasure to visit Carrie at her store when they still had a brick & mortor store in Seattle a few times. Always a pleasure.

No notification yet, though I'm eagerly expecting the production email to come this month at the earliest! I was also told that the M-422A was only done by one machinist, so there's a possibility that I might see my jacket in December if production is off schedule. Honestly I'm waiting for my product with as much anticipation as the rest of you in this thread!

Nothing for me yet. I did log into the my account on the website and noticed that my order had updated to 'exchange' but I don't know what that means! :)

I'm in no particular rush, with the situation being what it is coupled with working exclusively from home since March (and working more hours and harder than I ever have...!), I don't really go out aside from running, mountain biking or having a blast on the motorbikes or Caterham. It would be quite nice to actually be able to wear it properly when it does arrive!

Thanks fellas.

Mine has been in production for a couple of weeks TBH, but maybe we’ll see a big glut go out right before the holidays?

Same here, so it looks like things are working through the system.

I feel for any manufacturing business at the moment, Covid has put a right spanner both in the production and supply chains. Getting anything out is an achievement!

This why I have three or four 5 Stars during the wait. LOL. I’m actually the most chill I’ve ever been about waiting for an Aero. Literally don’t care at all when it’s finished. When it’s done it’s done. Then what?

I am excited as all get out to see my finished product but realize that, with our COVID restrictions, I will be limited to wearing around the house for the first few weeks.

Hopefully you guys can post some photos of yours to tide me over. I should be only a few weeks behind everyone else in the production schedule.

It’s all good. Think their quoted lead is 12-16 weeks right now, but there’s probably a ton of sheepskin orders keeping them busy this time of year, on top of the backlog.

Really was starting to think I wouldn’t see it until the new year, so I’m happy.

I put my order for a B6 in at the beginning of June through Thurston. The order went with the July batch to aero. I received word the jacket is on its way! Woohoo!
