NTD! New Truck Day! Look what followed me home. With 150,000 mi on my 2013 with low compression on cylinder #8 it was time to let her rest easy.

Yesterday was the third time that we have been out socialising post Covid19. It was all very convivial other than we were in a paddock, keeping a reasonable distance, just enough not to have to shout when in conversation. The band are very popular locally and the lady singer's husband came along with his new acquisition. He's a professional classic car restorer and this new project had many admirers even though it's looking rather sad.

If you are not car crazy the model is The Chevrolet Fleetline. It's unusual in that it is right hand drive. I thought that it might have been made for the Australian market but the new owner tells me that it was bought new in South Africa. The sleek lines and the two tone paint give this car the kind of character that is so lacking in today's safety conscious society.

Yesterday we saw The Chevy that had found it's way to the UK via South Africa and today we came across this beautiful Buick that had lived most of it's life in France, via Quebec. Tina loved it, that's her on the right of the car in the first photo.

Fiat Spider 71... I bought it from a surgeon for $1.00 if I could get it off his front lawn in Kenilworth, IL (on Lake Michigan) by the weekend. A tow bar and my Jeep and we were gone. Turns out a wire was kicked off the ignition lock - connected it and it ran. A real rust bucket and the wiring schematic was in Italian.

I put some money in fixing it and drove it in SCCA timed slalom races. Eventually too may rusty pieces fell off and I had to sell it. My kid never forgave me - she dearly wanted it. A new Neon wasn't a sufficient substitute.

How to combine modern technology with a touch of oldschool. Here’s my latest vehicle. Been riding this beast for the past 8 months and i can’t go back to my old 67 Vespa, I’m totally converted to the whole Ebike thing. For commuting or riding off road without making any nuisance to others.

Here’s my 1969 Dodge Charger. I’ve had it since October 1995, and have taken it to Portland Oregon, Vancouver, B.C., but the fuel it used almost bankrupted me. I just finished restoring it in June 2017. These pictures are from a car show i had entered it in, on the Easter weekend of 2018. Didn’t win anything, but that’s fine since there were so many people interested in it and wanting to talk about it.

The interior actually is really nice, but this picture makes it look kind of ratty, due to being so overexposed.

I’ve posted my bike pictures over in the Show Us Your Motorcycles thread, if anyone’s interested.

Lust brought this home today. A ‘28 Dodge Brothers Victory Six Brougham. About a hundred miles on her since a nut-and bolt restoration- in 1985. She’ll need a little sorting out.
