I got this jacket last week and have only worn it indoors. This is episode two of "great jackets that don't fit me."

To my knowledge it has had two previous owners. The man who sold it to me barely used it. The owner before him made sure to wear it in the rain. It is in great condition. The "faults" I can spot are one small scuff on the left sleeve and minor pilling on the sleeve liners. The zipper (Talon) seems flimsy in comparison with the leather, but I think this is common for LW (?).

I can't find the "Genuine FQHH" label anywhere, but it must be the LW horsehide a lot of people here know and love. This seems like the lighter version; the package I received weighed 5.2 lbs. It still feels very substantial, but the weight might help explain the graining. Look at it.

Previous seller's measurements
Chest (pit to pit): 22
Width at hem: 20.5
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam, taken from the back: 18.75
From collar base to hem, taken from the back: 25.25

My measurements
Pit to pit: 22.75
Width at hem: 21
Shoulder to shoulder: 18.75 (maybe 19 if I forcefully flatten it)
Collar base to hem: 25
Sleeves: 24 (measured straight) / EDIT: 24.5 if leather is flattened.

I'm 5ft10in (177 cm) and 161 lbs. Suit size 38R usually fits me. I'm happy with the length and the sleeves, but this jacket has room for a lot more mass - IMO more than the numbers suggest. I'm guessing this is good for someone between 5.9 and 6 ft and with some bulk.

I paid $700 after shipping and customs. I'd like to sell for $600 including shipping to anywhere in the world.

Any questions or requests, let me know :)

gorgeous jacket. Think it would fit me perfect at 6'0 185. Little worried about sleeve length though. 24? I'm used to like 26 unless your measurement is done differently.

Really don't need this, but I want a LW to round up the collection. Brown would be better, but alas. Anyway, let me know.

Also, is that waist measurement with the cinches pulled in, halfway, etc?

It sounds like it could fit you very well, depending on your shoulders and arms.

I can send you a picture of the way I measured when I get home. I will say that I am shorter than you and have average arms...but apparently the sleeves on the previous jacket I sold fit longer than the buyer expected.

The hem was measured with the fasteners in the 4th of 7 holes = bang in the middle. No slack or tightening as far as I could see, meaning you could tighten it up a bit.

More like 42/44 'cause width at hem 21" is on a roomy side even for 42.
The leather looks interesting indeed!
Thanks for the input. I don't have any 42 jackets to compare with, but you could very well be right. It drapes (yes) beautifully even on me, despite the excess material, which I think has to do with the pattern...but there should be room for someone who's at least a size 40.

The leather is awesome! Makes me want to try a HWT just so it would fit.

What a beauty! But the numbers definitely read more like a 40.

Thanks handymike! Yeah, the consensus seems to be a 40, maybe a slim 42. I don't agree with those saying the suburban is only for pot-bellied men though... :) It doesn't taper a lot, no, but the pattern is quite flattering.

I'm bumping this thread. $500 + shipping.

Bump. $500 is less than half of what you'd pay for a new one.

Also willing to trade if anyone has grown out of their HWM or a similar jacket :)

Last bump...I'll keep this one for now. It's a bit big, but I like it a lot and the pattern works well. That said, it would fit someone around 5ft10in - 6ft and 175-185 lbs better than me. If someone with approx those numbers wants a potential end game jacket somewhere down the line, feel free to send me a PM.
