Does anyone happen to have any experience with this particular jacket, in cow/steer hide? I'm wondering about how the fit is, in a given size. Specifically, with all the talk on TFL about patterns and how they fit, I'd appreciate it anyone with direct experience with this jacket as a regular wear, not riding jacket, could share your experience. Do these jackets tend to fit snug or loose in a given size, etc.? All other things being equal. Thanks

They are big, I sized down to 40, 42 would have been a mistake.

Beautiful 100 series Schott leather. Naked aniline. Kind of spongey, rubbery, breaks in real quick. Very busy back and arm pit area with the deeper cut biswing, under arm gusset and just overall pattern.
If you're going to buy off the shelf, better for a shorter, beer belly kind of person. Arm length is short and body is kind of short. They do have a long version though. Looking back I should have bought a 38L, but I got a 40R (I'm 42 chest, 6'0, 185 pounds) and it was pretty big on me. I think the 40 stock has a ptp of 24 or something like that. Crazy.
I spent about $200 tailoring it to look like this. Next time I'll just buy the right style with more of taper, no biswing or gussets, etc. But like I said, gorgeous leather, so I wanted to make it work.

I have a 141 in cowhide (641 is steer).
I agree in sizing down unless you’re the kind of guy who’s weight fluctuates up.
I’m a 43 and I wear the 42 in this model.
The overall fit is unremarkable, which I view as a good thing. Not out of proportion in any particular area. You can get long versions of the 141 also if you need it.
I find the forearm/wrist snug when zipped, but not uncomfortable.
It’s honestly a comfortable jacket for everyday wear. It is substantial in weight but supple from new. The 641 is much stiffer. If it’s not for riding I guess I’d recommend checking out the 530 (?) which is the CR with no shoulder gussets. Gives a sleeker fashion forward look. It doesn’t have the single back panel though from memory. The cowhide on the 141 is definitely geared as a riding jacket, in comparison though (to the 530) so if it’s that type of thing you’re after, go the 141.

Seems you were borderline on the length situation. I mentioned in my comment I wear a size down.
I actually wear 42L at 6’2 and that was mostly based on the sleeves when I tried on in store.
Out of interest did you have the gussets sewn shut?
I’m considering this as I’m not using this jacket for riding.

Thanks all. I'm 6', 201lb, 45" chest. I was wondering if size 44 vs 46 would be the ticket. I have a chance to purchase a size 44 but...I'm wondering how the chest would actually measure on that. if a size 40 has p-t-p of 24" then that would mean a size 44 would be much bigger.

if you go on Schott website, sometimes they have an online chat person avail. you can ask them for the size chart. You can also plug in your info into the size estimator. Whatever number it tells you is probably going to be relaxed fit (even though you put in slim). Just how Schott is designed.
otherwise depending on what kind of fit you want, you might actually be a 42 for a slim fit or a 42L if you need longer sleeves . Reg fit, probably a 44, but it's going to be very roomy. No way 46 unless you want the jacket to function as a tent as well.

Just to close the loop on this one. I heard back from Schott CS today. Official measurements are:
Style 141
Size 46-Back length-26", cross shoulder-21 1/4", sleeve length ( from shoulder)-25 3/4", pit to pit-27
Style 141-Size 44-Back length-26", cross shoulder-20 5/8", sleeve length ( from shoulder)-25 1/2", pit to pit-26".
I'm thinking that I'd likely need a size 42 in this to avoid being super baggy in the front. A chest of 52" seems excessive to me for my 45" measurements.

yep. Had a feeling you were 42. I'm 6.0 and 185 lbs and 40 was baggy on me. So with those extra pounds and bigger chest, 42 sounds right. Assuming the sleeve are a little longer than mine, they actually might be ok on you with a 42r. Length you can see in the photo I posted is just barely covering belt and we same height, but there can be variables there too.
