Nice, i’m looking forward to seeing some fit pictures. I noticed we ordered the same pattern in similar measurements. If you look at the back measurement pic Sean sent you should see how tall the waist knit is compared to the shell.

Yep the rib rack waist knit is 4”...I hadn’t really noticed that. It’s about 1.25” longer than the knits on my Real McCoy...
Ok. Well, I’ll find out soon how the fit is and I’ll post up some pics.

Yes! After receiving several pictures of my jacket, the pics of him measuring it and later some fit pics, it looks like he sent me pictures of two completely different jackets because the colors were SO different, and nothing really looked like the options from the customization page.
I pointed this out to him and he said not to worry, it’s just lighting...my jacket arrives today so hopefully it will be all good. Fingers crossed.

I had a similar experience, the knits looked line the wrong color and the interior looked kind of washed out. Sean told me it was the camera they use for measurement pics and sent me some higher quality ones. Not sure why they do t upgrade the camera they use for measurement pics as I’m sure it causes a lot of problems for them.

I don’t know man, I’m not sure how a camera could make khaki look like a deep green. I think it’s the wrong color cuff.

Ouf! Good thing I am not too fussed about the colour this time, although I know the colour of my upcoming jacket thanks to your pics.

Initial thoughts...
Leather doesn’t have any offensive odor like other have mentioned. It’s fine.

Mouton collar I ordered was the reddish brown. It appears much more red in color than it appeared on the website. It pretty much matches the russet brown knits, it’s not what I wanted or was expecting...it honestly doesn’t look all that bad, just not what I was expecting. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Giving it some time to decide.

The leather looks nice, isn’t stiff at all. This will require zero break in. It’s very comfortable, but it does feel thin, light and honestly not very robust. Now, I have not had a goat leather before to compare it to, but I guess I was expecting something that felt a little more sturdy than this, idk.

Now, with regards to fit, shoulders feel good, as does the P2P. Sleeves came in just a bit longer than I ordered but not to bad. I can deal with it. The back length feels short. I ended up ordering 24.75” back length. It’s not. At least according to me laying it flat and measuring it. When I measure it’s 24”. This may not seem to much, but it makes the leather stop in my back about 1” higher than my waist line on my jeans and feels weird to me.

here is a pick of Shawn measuring it: at the top where I circled it, the end of the tape is going past the seam and he is folding up the jacket a bit. Which may be the problem...I measured it flat laying down on a hard surface.

I’m not sure if this warrants a complaint or not. It’s close, but when I wear it the leather in the back does feel like it is stopping short of what my preferred fit would be. It may not be noticeable in the pics because the knits hide it, but it feels kind of odd.

so, Overall, it’s a very nice looking jacket. The fit not perfect, but pretty darn close. The colors...again, not exactly what I wanted based on the website photos, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t look nice and play together well. And...it’s very comfortable. I like the jacket, I do. Just wish the back length was an inch longer and the collar color matched more closely to what it looks like on his website.

The jacket looks great in general but since the measurement provided by Shawn doesn't appear to be correct, and the mouton is the wrong color, I think you have a case to have it replaced. The fit looks good to me, if you're into a really cropped look. I have a feeling mine is going to hit about an inch above my waistline as well. I think Shawn either needs to source some shorter single ply waist knits or specify the height of the knit so people can take it into account when they order that pattern. If the jacket length was longer with that same height wast knit the leather waist part in the front may be way too long and look weird because it won't bunch up like the waist knit. Here's a Buzz Rickson that has as similar waist band and about the same fit as you have, if that makes you feel any better about it.

Ya it may be a perfect fit considering that. If the leather was an 1-1.5” longer and the knits were that much shorter, I’d be pretty happy with it. If it were to be much longer in the front It would probably be to long. It may be more of just getting used to how it feels. Because it does feel kinda off.... but that’s compared to jackets I am used to wearing. This pattern is based off the Buzz Rickson so maybe this is just how it is supposed to fit. Although my measurements do seem shorter than his.
But man that Mouton sure doesn’t look like what I expected. It doesn’t look bad, but The reddish brown on his page and other jackets I’ve seen in images just didn’t look so...red? In person it’s more of a rusty russet, than brown, the russet brown knits actually appears to my eye more brown than the collar. Idk. Doesn’t look bad though. Like I said, overall it looks pretty good.

Something I just learned is that 1" in length makes a big difference. 25" length jacket looks REALLY short whereas 26" fits perfectly.

Have dealt with Shawn on whatsapp, and now he is ignoring me when I ask him what he means by "hem"?

Trying to get measurements to order a steer A-2, and he told me he needs:
Chest
Waist
Hem
Shoulder
Sleeve length
back length

What is hem? Isn't a hem any folded piece of cloth?

The hem will mean waistband / hip. In the case of an A-2, the knitted bands. I would definitely indicate how wide they should be.

If he is ignoring you and not responding to your messages that might be a good time to reconsider whether or not you should order a jacket from him.

The hem usually means the bottom edge of a jacket which in a long coat may end at your thighs. This bottom edge is often folded over on the inside or hemmed.

Think this is the measurement Shawn means from my build (pre shipping photo from 5 Star)
