Very smart, Steve, very stylish...perhaps classic is the word I'm searching for.

Monark Homburg today. This was a very kind bonus hat from Panos @PanosChris. I originally turned it down and chose other hats from the collection he's currently downsizing. Panos knew better and put it in the mix. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness in doing so. It definitely has hues of midnight blue.

Be a trendsetter, I say! You and your wife show off some excellent hats!

Thanks, Joe.
The desire to wear nice hats has forced me to up my game in the clothing department. While things aren’t as bad over here as they are in the US, a state of emergency has been declared in several prefectures, including Osaka, which is the next one over from me, so we’re not getting out as much as we would like, either. Etsuko & I have decided to take a leaf out of @Redfokker’s book. He said he was the best dressed man at Walmart. We try to be the best dressed at our local supermarket and home centre.

Tirard Supra 9.jpg

Today another "Diplomatique" made by Tirard many years ago and called "Supra", the size is 59cm or 7 1/2 in the United States.
Tirard Supra 6.jpg

The color of the felt is "Eton" and the ribbon that adorns the hat is an amazing tone on tone with pink reflections.
Tirard Supra 4 bis.jpg
The dimensions are as impressive as his other French brothers, only the crown is one centimeter less in height. It is very wearable and has a low weight.
Tirard Supra 2.jpg

The word "Impermeable" is stamped on the sweat band which was a plus in those years.

I still owe you the rest of this week's Italians. Here they are.

Your hats and overcoats hat you share are excellent! Cheers.

Wearing my Melton refurb again this a.m. This hat's been reblocked on my Randal Alan and completely restyled with the addition of a matching colored brim binding and an 1 1/2 black ribbon with a slightly upturned bow...

I ike the ribbon trimmings on this hat. You got skills.

Since about the only times I've been leaving the grounds here this winter is for a bike ride I've barely had on a long coat. Today I decided to go with this old Zero King. Seemed like the Dobbs was calling for it.

Sharp hat, but my eyes keep coming back to the long coat. Excellent pairing.

Brent I like the "sahara" hued felt.

Thanks Alan. I really do love the profile on the Whippet View attachment 301878

Agreed! The Whippets with your hats dimensions are just classic proportions. Classy look.

Excellent hats and sweaters of late Perry.

Daniele; Thanks for sharing your homburg collection of late. I am appreciating the hats that I do not see often enough. Today's has a pearl-essence quality which is very attractive.

Cheers, Eric -

Happy National Hat Day!
Earlier this year, I got an email from Lock & Co that because of the pandemic they shut down for the first time in their history. I wrote this, and thought I'd share here on Nat. Hat Day for fellow hat lovers. Also, a pic of me in my new Stetson. I'm happy to say Lock has reopened.

A MESSAGE FROM ST. JAMES STREET
My hatter from London wrote to tell me
Three hundred-plus years and the shop sign says “SHUT.”
Nothing before this has caused them to close
Not Waterloo nor George Washington nor
Two World Wars. The Great Depression? Open.
Something this tiny, a viral eyelet
Has shut-tight the shop where Churchill once stood
Trying on hats whilst the Blitz raged outside.

Pilgrims now wonder when they can return
To stand there like Winston, flashing the “V”
And begin counting years all over again.

Grand hat. Thanks for sharing.

Our High Holy Day is upon us!
Have a Heckofa Happy Hat Day!!

Matt’s Stetsonian, in tawny to mark the day!

Be well and safe.

Bowen; Nothing beats a pic with Willow. Cheers to you and your family. Good to see your Churchill again.

Mayser Velour, mid 1930s. Fantastic Velour plus great looking Bat Wing Bow.

1937 date stamped envelope from a Dutch Mayser distributor (N.V. Hoedenmaatschappij, Bussum). The Mayser logo on the envelope matches the logo on the above hat.

Steve; Your hat and accessories collection is amazing. The velour and heathered felts I have seen are just incredible. This thread needs much more of the hat diversity you bring. Thanks.

For NH/IHD I’m wearing a Miller Bros. “Sterling Beaver”. The World’s Finest Hat (Miller Bros. said so).

Modern Stetson Pinnacle Excellent Quality in Sage.
Happy International Hat Day!

Short brim, bigger brim, you wear them well. Cheers.

View attachment 301229 Kinda odd to me, but this hard bowler is the most comfortable hat I own.
And the oldest too. A great hat for NHD, I think.
Another funny thing about this bowler is that most bowlers have pretty much the same look, yet of the many I’ve put on it’s the only one that I like, and like a lot.

Stetson 25 Open Road (with a photo bomb from my dogs)

You can wear a diverse collection of hats and make them look good sir. I like the stack and hat hangings in the background.

Alan; The color hue of the this hat's felt always gets me. Really sharp.

Looking good sir.

View attachment 301258 View attachment 301259 Brown Greek fisherman’s cap for a change up.

Life would be boring if you only wore the same kind of head covering. I would expect nothing less than a diversity from you Jeff. Thanks for bringing it on the thread.

Late evening post for National Hat Day....

I've been wearing my own handmade hats a lot recently and putting them through their paces. This is my FEPSA beaver build in cypress.

Jared, cool! You got some hat skills going on sir.

Thin ribbon goodness.

Cheers to all, Eric -

Love the Hanover Square Michael!! It's on my bucket list.
Thanks Dave. Good luck on your hunt.

Great coat and hat. Love that Dobbs!
Thanks Reggie. You've been pulling out some great hats lately. Not that you ever fall down in that dept.

Looking good @Michael A !! I was thinking today and I have not been inside a business since March. I have only been at my house, my parents or my girlfriends. I am not a social butterfly to begin with but I really have been isolated since March. I am wearing one of my Akubra Campdrafts right now right by myself counting flowers on the wall. The pandemic has made me a hat p-erson so there's that I guess.
Thanks ET. Other than a once a week, or once every two weeks depending on needs, trip to the grocery stores I've been lying low at home. As far as being in an enclosed space with the public at least. I've been trying to get out on the bike as much as possible for a little exercise, but that is pretty much it for me. And since I've been buying all of my hats locally for the last couple of years it's put a dent in to the hat acquisition. That last probably not a bad thing overall.

Wow Daniele. That is one beautiful hat. I've been enjoying your show of "Diplomatiques"
