It's a jacket to be careful with. I got a size 40 over a year ago at 5'7" with probably a 42"chest and 35" waist at that time and it was tight in the chest and very loose in the waist even though I had a larger waist than you do now. With a 31.5" waist now I would be swimming in that jacket even though my chest is still 42".

@marker2037 has that jacket now and it fits him so much better than it fit me.

This jacket does NOT fit slim and sizing up will likely look horrendous. This is not a versatile pattern in terms of people that it fits. You need to make sure this jacket will fit your body type. It looks fantastic on Marker, but looked awful on me.

Sending measurements is of course a good idea, but a fit jacket would be nice if you could try one.

Here’s mine. Generally, I found the pattern to be tight in the chest and shoulders for me even sized up. It’s just not meant to be a generous jacket.
