I have not had an update but his plan in Novembert was to stop taking custom orders, complete his wait list and then in the new year launch a 'ready to wear' line of hats. So hand made but not made to order. You will still be able to buy his hats but I imagine no input as to dimensions/ribbon work etc.

wow - that will be sad. After an initial Stetson purchase, when I decided to buy some quality hats and start a collection I originally bought a couple Optimo hats from Chicago. Really nice hats, but mostly ready to wear and very pricey. Mike's hats are hundreds of dollars less for same quality and they're completely custom. I can see why Mike would want to go ready to wear - it's a much more efficient business model. Just a shame
Agreed. I confirmed with Mike that he absolutely is keeping his custom hat business going. Yes he is doing some ready to wear but nothing is changing about the custom hat business.
