True Confessions: My Sordid String of Love Affairs

YES!! In the 80s I had a serious "thing" for swoopy hair in the face! All the little skater boys had the same 'do -- I was so crushed out.

Man, you must have loved Flock of Seagulls then. :p

I was, too. He was my very first celebrity crush. I had photos of him in my Trapper Keeper in 5th Grade. *sigh*

Ah fifth grade. That explains how you didn't know how safe you would have been with them. :p

Of course, if I were going to hop into this thread, it would be to post about 100 pictures of ladies from The Fedora Lounge, with whom I have fallen in and out of love numerous times in the past couple of years. :)

Oh, do tell. ;)

I always wondered how anyone could find Dick Powell handsome. Not that he was ugly, really. Just... no chin. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't peg him as the kind who would play the romantic lead in musicals.

Dick Powell has a chin! I think he is the perfect romantic lead in musicals. He starts singing, and I swoon. He has charisma and he always seems respectable, and (to me at least) impossible not to like. There is something about him that is just so well rounded and attractive - even if he isn't the type you'd pass on the street and stop dead in your tracks for. Somehow not being a perfection of beauty makes him even more handsome to me.

I apologize, Novella. I didn't mean to knock your fella. Hey, that rhymes. Seriously, though. I can see what you mean. I suppose he's handsome sort of in the same way that Fred Astaire was: not what you'd call swoon material, but just so charming you can't help but like him.
