Looks great! I bought it's twin, the dark brown cxl sheene in size 42, that arrived at the same time yours did. My first aero and I'm in love.

I beat on the shoulders to get them to settle down a bit, and the sleeves dropped too.
I’m happy with this length.

I would add 1-1.5in to the sleeves, as the length will probably shorten .5in through creasing. I only like short sleeves on suit jackets where your shirt cuff shows. Don’t know how it would look sticking out the end of a leather jacket.

I like my sleeve length to land between wrist and thumb knuckle. I’m close enough now. I know the sleeve length over the thumb knuckle is common with some folks but to me, that makes the jacket look too big, even if it isn’t.
I won’t be riding with this jacket, and as the leather softens and breaks in, I bet the sleeves land just right.
It covers my watch, which is a good baseline.

Carrie just emailed me to say this particular batch of FQHH is 1.5-1.6mm, heavier than average according to the head cutter at Aero. It’s going to take some work to break in.

tip on breaking in, helped me a lot. I lay the jacket flat and roll up from the bottom to the top as tightly as possible. As I get to the top, I fold in the sleeves and basically roll into a log. Then, use my knees to literally "knead" for like 30 seconds. Then flip over the jacket and roll from the back. Do it like 3-4 times a day, especially if you can hang the jacket in the sun and get all the waxes warmed up. Transformed my Sheene in like 3 months. Just make sure no zippers, buckles, etc. are sticking out to dig into the leather as you put on pressure. And yeah, of course, wear the hell out of it. But that alone was taking too long.

Previous jackets I’ve put them on and gone on a road trip in the truck, or a multi-day bike ride. Can’t do that right now so I’ll use your advice. This leather is stiff, and waxy, and thick, and smells like a horse is in the house!

I wanted to make a trucker out of the leather, but Aero told me the current inventory of natural CXL is too thick for that. That seems to be your leather ;-)
Another question about the dimensions ... did you measure yourself or was that Thurston's information? I looked at some of the details and they almost always look the same on Sheene?

Good question about measurements. I did post Thurston's measures but measured the jacket upon arrival too. The only difference was the shoulder. Thurston was 19.75 and I came up with 19.5. I do know when Thurston measure they spread the jacket as much as they can, so that could account for the small difference. The stiffness of the leather makes that a chore. This jacket is stiff. I wore in around the house today to work the shoulders and I was feeling abrasion on my shoulder points from the seams.
I have a Vanson Oxford I bought from Thurston and I measure it out exactly as their posted measurements. No difference at all, so I am confident in their measurements. Hope that helps.

Anytime...by the way I have a double ring belt on its way. Found a guy in the states that makes them old school style. Ordered mine with bridal leather, in natural. I'll let you know how it turns out when it arrives (I asked you about yours a few weeks ago).

size 42. It was a snug fit. Bought the jacket a year ago and its finally loosened up. Fits great now. I don't have the snap in liner. If I did, I could easily have sized up to a 44.

Thanks! I'm hoping for something with a tiny bit of extra room so I can fit a zip in liner, or an armored shirt underneath. Sounds like I'm on the right track.

My Seven is very similar to your Sheene. I think it was made from the same batch of thick natural CXL.
