I don’t really want to get into a debate, but I feel the recent locking and removal of certain threads in Outerwear should be addressed by The Staff. I would like some clarity about TFL’s general policy on shutting down threads that remain completely civil, but might “step on some toes.” These threads didn’t seem to be bullying or detrimental to the TFL community IMO. When does a thread get locked-up vs. cleaned up?
A simple clear-cut answer will suffice. Thanks in advance.

Edit- may question has been responded to here:

Especially if certain threads are locked for further replies without any single explanation why.

What's the main difference between the Highwayman and Sheene? Is Sheene a tighter fit? I'm trying to figure out which style would be better for me as I wanted to get a Highwayman but I'm afraid it might be too boxy for me.

The Highwayman is a boxy cut, about the same width at the waist as it is at the chest. There are buckles that can be tightened to give it a trimmer appearance. The Sheene is a more fitted cut. I have both and prefer the Sheene.

I thought that might be the case looking at some pictures. I'm not bothered by those buckles and from what I see they're positioned at the bottom. To me, it's just around the waist where the Highwayman might be a bit too wide. Thank you.

Sheene is the cafe racer with a collar. You can configure the Hem and the side adjusters from the Highwayman for the Sheene for an additional charge. And other sleeves too. Then you have a highwayman with a v-shape.

Yeah, probably that's what I should do, only if I had enough patience :D I want an Aero as I really liked their BR but thinking to go for something more casual.

I was looking at Aero's website and I noticed Sheene doesn't appear in the front store, they only have a few on the stock page.

I think the 'Sheene' originated as a special via Thurston Brothers?

There is also the “Seven” which is a Board Racer with collar. It is a great choice for slimmer body types with less taper at the waist than the CR pattern.

They have a Seven on their stockpage if I’m not mistaken. Looks great but i’m looking for something without zippers on the sleeves. Maybe I’ll give them a call next week and ask for some measurements on a Highwayman.

Here’s the difference in the body shapes:

The zips, etc are interchangeable.

If you don't ride, I don't know of any reason to have the zippers.

Perfect for me! Say no more :)

That was exactly my thought. I like my CR and I'll probably get another one later for when I ride but I want a different jacket to go out....whenever that will be :)

Style and fit-wise I really like this Rider's Jacket but I'm not prepared yet to go for that one:

I am thinking of putting in an order for a Thedi.
Is there a recommended leather? How is italian horsehide vs shinki?

Honest opinion, I don’t even know what that is or what it costs but if that’s what you want, I say go for it. Don’t get an Aero if it’s going to be a replacement jacket. You’ll be better off if you just get what you really want, even if you have to wait and save up for it.

I completely understand what you're saying. The Aero wouldn't be a replacement as I like Aero and I wanted one ever since I got that BR.

as @dudewuttheheck mentionned, there is a lot of variation.

If you are wondering about the general grade of the hide, they are both top end, if you are looking for something specific, then tell us what you want exactly.

All I can tell you is that whatever you go for with Thedi will be special, so I generally leave the choice of the hide to them, I only ask for the colour I want.
