I love Glynn Turman as Doctor Senator!!

When he was asked about his name, he said his mother named him that.
Then he was asked what was his mother's name.. he replied ''Ma'am".

Chinatown Squad of the San Francisco Police Department posing with sledge hammers and axes in front of August Pistolesi’s grocery store at 752 Washington Street, 1895. They were specialized in opium dens and gambling rooms and their method was simple.

Hurricane Jack posted this the other day in the Non Shorpy all stars thread. Coincidentally, I learned today about a new show on HBO Max called Warrior. It's based on Bruce Lee's original treatments, which as the story goes, were unscrupulously 'borrowed' and turned into the David Carradine Kung Fu series by Hollywood execs.

Anyhow, here's one of the publicity stills for the show:

Thanks to The Covid (TM), I've taken to sometimes working in the afternoon in front of the television, and found myself gravitating to old westerns on MeTV. Over the course of the afternoon, they run Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Rifleman, and Wagon Train. It's been interesting for me because I have not seen many of the episodes before, or had forgotten about them (as an example, I came to Bonanza late, and really never saw the Adam episodes).

When I was a kid, however, I never missed The Rifleman. I've come to enjoy it again as an adult - every last corny moment and illogical plot device. It's a fun show.

Chuck Connors in various hats, including a porkpie from a movie with Gregory Peck.

LA had a ‘hat squad’ that operated in the late 40’s into the 50’s. “Mullholland Falls” is loosely based on them. Pretty famous locally with a couple of them becoming lawyers and one of them a Municipal judge. I’ve posted some stuff on them before somewhere, maybe this thread.

Good movie.
Nick Nolte wore two really nice hats in that movie.
