Some of my Carhartt WIP Chinos I mentioned. Slim fit without being super tight.....not baggy or boxy. Available in a ton of colors. Retain enough of the main Carhartt work aesthetic without being work at all. Retail depending on the model for between 80-128 most around 128 so not crazy expensive on their own. But slightly used pairs on eBay and grailed for much much less than that.

I really don't want to be rude, but IMO this is silly.
These probably cost a fortune but they look like walmart jeans that have been used to work in the woods for 6 months!
To me these are jeans for people who have never changed a tyre or used a chainsaw in their life but want to feel/look manly, it is a bit ridiculouse.
If these where a videogame item they would be called "manpants" and they would give you +3 manliness...

You're not being rude, you're sharing your opinion and opinions are always welcome :)

I haven't seen these in the flesh but judging by the photo's, I like them and I think I could make them work. They would go nice with a heavy turtle neck cream color cable knit sweater for instance.

I agree with you on the price, £1575 is pretty steep. But if they were 250-350 I would definitely consider them.

I actually own a pair that is even more pre-distressed.

I haven't used a chainsaw even once in my life but this is me changing a tire while wearing the above :p

This is like saying why buy a Real McCoy's leather jacket if you can buy a 5* leather jacket for considerably less money :)

But that's what every piece of clothing we discuss here can be characterized as. I don't see it as trying to look like anything, they're just fashion, like any other pre-distressed jeans, only made in leather. I'd much rather wear leather pants than jeans as I don't like textile and this is a great compromise when I'm not particularly keen on getting looks from slobs in sweatpants.

I also like double front pants/ double knee pants, currently only have it in jeans, but I want it in wabash too.

real question, how do leather pants work, do you wear it as overpants? and how to clean them? I imagine it becomes dirty from piss splashes, and when you fart inside lol sounds ridiculous, but isn't it a real hurdle in wearing something you very rarely wash as pants

They're pants, how would they work? XD You just wear them and not as overpants. Who'd do that? When they get dirty, you wear them some more. You can wash them as any leather jacket, I suppose but I never washed any of mine.

This is like saying why buy a Real McCoy's leather jacket if you can buy a 5* leather jacket for considerably less money :)

Yep and in general, "biker jeans" can be considered 100% pure fashion, hype item. They're derived from motorcycle racing suit trousers. Accordion kneepads are functional on heavy leather racing suits are made of but on a garment made out of textile it makes zero sense.

I don't know, maybe i feel that way because i actually get jeans to look like that by doing things that get them dirty...
I never understood the "distressed look", just buy things new and wear them.

I'll sell these to anyone on TFL for 499$, the stains are real grease, the tears are authentic and they smell like two stroke engine.

They are limited edition too, i only make two pairs a year!

They're pants, how would they work? XD You just not as overpants. Who'd do that?

I see racer wear onesies under their racesuit and cowboys wear longjohn thing underneath their suede/ roughout pants. if worn often over skin, don't they get moldy and itchy or at least smelly?

you need to wipe your old engine oil, and chain grease stained hands allover your pants... because that is how real mechanic do... right... instead of pouring a bit of petrol on their hand and wiping it with rag. in early day of raw denim thing, whenever I see fade picture of someone who wear their jeans to fix their motor, it always look like he poured old engine oil over a tarp, and then roll around with his raw jeans over it.

I see your point, you consider pre-distressed clothes fake looking and while that is undoubtedly true, here's my perspective on the matter; Even before I became a member here, I used to wear my old Levi's at all times and while I'd never get them dirty as I wash my clothes a lot, they creased and faded to the point I loved & wearing them made me feel good as I never particularly enjoyed the look of brand new jeans. So once they fell apart, I just wanted to jump ahead to that point in time where my jeans (or jackets or whatever) look good, without having to spend (waste) years on getting there again and again and again as there's a good chance I'll render them unwearable before they get there. So I'll always be happier with a well distressed item than something that looks brand new and I'm sure I can't be the only one. Lots of people prefer the distressed look but don't feel like getting there all the time.

Which is why I think Ralph made an absolutely perfect call to slightly distress those suede jeans. While having all the benefits of leather (fantastic shape, unmatched creases, form, etc.), they don't scream leather, something a lot of people will understandably shy from; they don't look like brand new suede which can also be annoying, especially if you get it dirty or scuffed the way that's not really what you had in mind; so RRL took care of all that by adding the pre-distressed jeans vibe and just made it safe for you to actually wear. To me, that's very commendable and they seem much less tendentious than some of those mega accurate Japanese replica jeans which in essence don't bring anything new to the table.

EDIT: They cost a lot, sure but what doesn't.

Also, you could sell these bad bois for a high price on Styleforum!

I wore my denim jacket once to a garage to burn the belly of my twin stroke exhaust pipe from old oil deposit, not only I inhaled cancerous smoke coming out of it but my whole clothes and jacket then smell like lvl 255 master mechanic with 150yrs of experience also give yellow cast allover the white weft, that jacket only got washed last month.

It's not even about the clothing itself being fake i think, it's about trying to project an image of yourself that is fake.
At least that's how i would feel wearing industrially pre distressed clothing, i would feel like i was posing/ wearing fancy dress.
(Once again, not judging anyone who likes distressed clothing.)

It’s funny I have a pair of grey chinos that one knee is shredded and a pair of khaki chinos the pockets and belt loops are frayed and falling apart. I don’t regularly wear either now since they are falling apart. Maybe on laundry day or while doing work around the house. But when people see them they always assume I bought them pre-distressed. Nope I “earned” these battle scars. To the broader/bigger point though I’m definitely a to each their own POV. If people want them looking brand new, falling apart, clean, dirty, wreck them themselves, or pre-distressed; if it makes the wearer happy then I hope they are happy.

Which model so you wear? They seem to have a bunch. How off is the vanity sizing?

I wear leather mc jackets yet I don't ride (I don't think my moped counts). I wear trench coats without having served in the British army. I wear distressed denim but I'm not a coal miner. I guess I'm fake in several different ways :p

Most of them are the “Sid” model. Sizing isn’t too bad. I have 30x30 and 29x30. The 29 is perfect for slim but not skinny. The 30x30 are just fine no complaint just not as good as I like. So I would say if you want a good fit, get your true size. If you want a great fit go down 1 or 2 sizes. But so far in my experience none of them have been awful.

edit: which is to say importantly at that my true size is 29 or 30 if things were actually always TTS and not stretchy or vanity sized.
