Pants you wear with your leather jackets

I think you are somewhat missing my point.
I assume your trench coat doesn't have fake bullet holes, blood stains and knife slashes on it... It isn't "army distressed"!
Same with denim, i don't think you have to work in a mine to wear denim, but i don't see the point in buying new denim that looks like it was used in a mine for years if you have never stepped foot in a mine... IMO that is posing as a miner/worker.

Same with a leather jacket, i don't think you have to ride a bike to wear a leather jacket, but if you wear the full ensemble like that:

And you have never sat on a bike, you are IMO posing/ dressing up as a biker...

I think anything goes with leather jackets in terms of pants. I’m kind of tired of skinny trousers with a carrot type silhouette. Not really flattering imho and generally prefer straight and wider cuts as of late. Here are some imho good inspirations:

As far as distressing, my stance is that is nice to have some light washed and faded denim that isn’t falling apart. I think that is where distressing come in for me. Yes of course you can start dark blue rigid and do all the wear yourself but by the time they lighten up they also start to rip... fake repairs and rips that’s another story. Not a massive fan of those.

But this kinda getup had stopped being proper motorcycling clothes nowadays, anyway and it's a question whether it actually ever originated as such, as these jackets originated as WW1 pilot jackets and footwear was mostly whatever boots these guys could buy but in no way purpose built MC gear. In actuality, bikers that dress up like that nowadays are posing to be someone they're not, ie. motorcyclists from the era long gone. Re-enactment, pretending to be something you can no longer be, which in itself is a fashion statement as much as 2021 Christian Dior runway. Henceforth literally every chick ever this spring looks like one of the guys on this photo.
On top of that, wouldn't the same apply to anyone wearing an A-2, WW2-era army slacks and Corcoran boots; ie. half of this forum?

I didn't say that dressing like these guys and owning a bike would not make you a poser, they are, this is as you say reenactment.
To me there is no difference between the above "bikers" and these guys:

As she her and i don't even think "biker".
If she had pins all over her jacket, a 59 patch, some rolled up white sock etc and i knew she wasn't a rider i would probably think "this is some IG crazy person being a pretend biker or someone going to a fancy dress party".
If i saw someone dressed like that on a bike i would just think it was some bike nut having fun wearing old gear.

I like these. Extremely well made and I do like the look. Plus they're very comfortable to wear.

It's ok if you don't like them and I love to hear you elaborate on what you don't like about them. But I'm not sure I appreciate you calling my clothes ugly.

I prefer these Balmains over all the sweatpants and daddy jeans I see here on tfl. But that's personal taste. Tastes differ. No need to call each other's clothes ugly.

I had to scroll back up to see if this was the pants other than denim thread. We do tend to meander. Liking a degree of cosplay is ok. So is not liking it. Form is good. So is function. We’re all a lot different. We’ve got a lot in common.

The thread is useful both as a spirited discussion and examples of pants we like to wear with our jackets. I already got some inspiration. I wanted to add Grease Point work pants because I like the philosophy of the guy a lot, but I am not yet convinced I like the style. May grow on me.

Most of them are Twill Chinos. 8-10oz. They do have duck chinos not in the “Sid” style that I know of. . But I believe in other variations of the style.

Aah, I know what you mean now. I've confused pretending in clothes in general with faux-distressing sign of wear into it. Gotcha.

The light green, dark green are Sid. The black and grey are vicious pant. Which is a slightly different style of the Sid. Which when you put them together you get Sid Vicious. I don’t know the whole background but I’d imagine named after Sid since he wore slim dark colored pants often. But yeah Sid and Vicious are pictured and they are only slightly differently designed 8oz twill pants.

Save for the obvious bike jackets which I tend to wear only with denim, I wear my leathers with everything. Day to day, this tends to be cotton WW2 era repro trousers (when I'm more organised, I'm going to buy a bunch of these and dye them different colours - cheapest way to a range of trousers in a period cut), Darcy Clothing trousers in various cottons, and my trusty Dickies 817 Original Fit. I'd rather the latter weren't poly-cotton, but they are affordable, durable, and have a decent waist cut. As to a slimmer, more modern look, well, I did that back in the 90s, but I've got no interest in it now. Men's fashions post-1963 are of no interest whatever to me. And I really prefer pre56.
