They are mainly blocking the 'Alerts' section.

...these are considered the worst of all possible ads here in Germany. They are very bad click-traps.

I agree with the crowd, these ads are way to intrusive and spoil any continuity with viewing the site.

I couldn’t figure out what any of you were talking about at first. I’m not seeing ANY ads; never have. I’m using DuckDuckGo browser on an iPad. Not sure if that makes a difference...
I am pretty sure that the site managers and even advertisers probably don't want the ads blocking content which it is. I find it quite irritating. I bet it can be toned down. I often cannot access the drop down windows, especially the "Alerts" which I use frequently because it is blocked by ads.

I'm using duck duck go on my Android phone and see zero ad's.

I don't understand this one at all. There's not even an ad on the page. I recommend clearing your cache or try updating your browser.
