Some people today think, Kneipp was the inventor of "quackery". But that's bullshit. He was accused of quackery by some of his enemies!
He had many enemies, because the white coats feared the upcoming competition by Kneipp's cure proceeding.

Unkown number in academic medicine. He was denounced of quackery. He had to deal with charges, and so on.

But the point are the basic things, he was standing for.
