I get this sort of vibe from it.

Looking at your Grandmother, no. It would probably have to be a photo of someone I was emotionally attached to in some way, but I never knew any of my Grandparents so it would have to be an older photo of one of my parents, an aunt or uncle, or...?
On this I can agree with you. I've seen some black and white photos that were colorized well enough to look like color photography, but that's rare and I can usually tell they've been colorized. Besides, I rather like black and white photography and don't see the point of colorization....I'm not a fan of colorization of vintage B/W photos either.

Wow that's a lot more movement than I seen in such things. There are YouTube videos of similar treatments of historical figures. It's REALLY creepy seeing Lincoln blink, smile and move his head!

I'd love to see an animated photo of my grandmother bouncing a gob of raw hamburger off my grandfather's head because he turned off his hearing aid so he couldn't hear what she was saying. It's those precious family memories that make life so sweet.

Have you ever had personalized (paper) advertisment in your mail box without any reason? Happened to me, yesterday. The first time in my life.
Of course, I wondered why. But I needed just minutes to find out online, what's going on. And it's all the legal way under the EU-DS-GVO.
Our Deutsche Post AG has a subsidiary company, named Deutsche Post Direkt GmbH, which runs dialog-marketing business.
All the adress data of this company are used by all other marketing companies for alignment, if the adress is really existing.
Of course, I immediately did the most important thing, sending them my correct objection for future data use for commercial interests under Art. 21 DS-GVO.
Simply said, they will (as fast as possible) "lock" my adress data. And if any marketing company will align my adress in the future, they will just get the mark "unknown".
Of course, I did the same immediately to the marketing company from Munich, which was written under the paper advertisment as the source of my adress.
And they will do the same with my adress data, as mentioned above.
Both companies send their notice of arrival already the same day.

I hate to be the one to tell you, but you've actually done the most wrong thing--by contacting them you've informed them that the name and street/mailing address they had on file are valid and correct, and now you'll most likely get bombarded with similar mail regardless of what they've promised you because they're going to sell your information to every advertiser who will pay for it. Oh, you can send them your objection under Art. 21 DS-GVO, and they won't even respond to it because they have a list of legal loopholes that still allows them to do whatever they want with your information. The best thing to do is to throw that junk mail in the trash and get on with your day.

Nope, because things are a little different in Germany. They usually process the objection correctly, otherwise they will get in trouble with our Federal Data Protection Authority on people's respective complaint.

Once a person reaches a not particularly old age, he receives mail from undertakers, just to, you know, remind him of that which he would rather not be reminded. I’ve been getting such unsolicited correspondence for well over a decade now.
I find more humor in it than anything else. But the junk mail I find nothing good in at all are the solicitations with the phony handwriting font, and language that would imply a friendship between the commercial correspondent and the recipient. “Hey Anthony,” it says, in something kinda resembling handwriting, “it’s James from AAAA Reliable Plumbing and Heating!” Etc., etc.

And then you have those drivers on four-lane roads, in light traffic, who will be going straight through an intersection once that red traffic light turns green, but decide to stay in the right lane, thereby preventing drivers behind them from turning right on the red light. It's not illegal, but it's inconsiderate.

I really appreciate the junk mail that comes with no return address. It's a dead giveaway. It never makes it from the mail box to the house. It goes right into the recycling bin before I get there. I suppose the senders think that it's kind of a mystery and that I'll be tempted to open it so see who's writing to me about what. Wrong!

Ever since the daily newspapers have no longer been a part of my life, I’ve found a new appreciation for junk mail. What else for lighting the charcoal chimney and the fire pit?

OH! There's a new gimmick that makes me laugh. I have received several pieces of mail with the return address of "The Main Office". What a hoot!
I wonder if they A/B tested mail from The Main Office with mail from A Branch Office?
I'm sure there are people in the left tail of the smarts distribution that are impressed by such a serious-sounding sender that they feel compelled to see what The Main Office is writing to them about, but if I worked at The Main Office, I would be ashamed to be exploiting the naivete or dull-wittedness of my fellow citizens, especially those left-tailers.
