Hello,

I am a new member so I hope this is the right thread and on a happy note hello everyone.

I have decided finally that I would like to invest in buying a "Battle of Britain" bomber style shearling jacket and in debate what are the ups and downs of the following companies.

  1. *Eastman leather Jackets - "JACKET - R.A.F. 1940 PATTERN Battle of Britain model"
  2. *Aviation leather craft - "Original Irvin Flying Jacket"
  3. *Cockpit USA - "R.A.F Sheepskin Bomber Jacket Z2109"
I would be happy to hear your opinions or be educated on the subject or other brands, pictures of the products if you have are more than welcome to give me an idea.

Thank you,
Leiderman.

Welcome here @Leiderman. I hope you get to acquire what you are looking for. I don't have any knowledge about shearling styled jackets (too warm where I live) but I can page @King B who has a great affinity for them. All the best, good luck.

I have three Shearlings, but only from Aero and 5 *.
Of the ones listed, I would only take the Eastman because it's an RAF style. In my opinion, the other two are just fur jackets inspired by the aviator jackets (but I'm not a specialist and I might be wrong). But if you like it, why not?

Agreeing with Mr Proper, the Eastmans will be an accurate reproduction. I had a BOB Eastmans, great jacket sold it on to fund a D-1 (Eastmans) which has a longer wear season in the UK being a thinner shearling.
