Funny, I think we have a similar searching strategy/routine...Vinted, Kleinanzeigen, Etsy, etc. :D Yes, the brown one looks nice too

I actually asked him if this is an 80's/90's Vanek...no feedback, yet but probably he's right and both jackets are real 50's jackets.

I actually asked him if this is an 80's/90's Vanek...no feedback, yet but probably he's right and both jackets are real 50's jackets.

I really like the backside of the brown one!

There is a visible repair near the hem button (a rip), 450 euro for this is very steep imo.

The brown one is so cool. Love the side adjusters and the flap. Hope monitor gets this one lol

The seller told me that he actually knows Vanek leather jackets very well (equipped the Austrian Gendarmgerie / Police) but this one is definitely NOT a Vanek and it's from the 50's like the brown one. It's a custom made leather jacket for the father of the original seller. The zipper is from brand „Ideal“ from the 50's. He doesn't if it's horse or steer. 450€ ist too much - on the other hand I really like this one but it could be a tad too large - the back length would be perfect for me (64cm).

I've shared the link of your former/current black Engelbert Vanek with the seller (located in Berlin) of the two 50's leather jackets telling him that the leather of the black one is very similar to the Vanek. He has just answered as follows: "This is crazy! This used to be my Engelbert Vanek (noticed it from the side adjusters) which I sold to a guy from France about 3 years ago as it was too short for me" :D Little world!
