Haven’t been around the lounge much this past week after our family got rocked with the loss of two dear family members. A week ago today we lost my mother-in-law Ellen.. a very sad loss, a loss her valiant battle of nearly two years with pancreatic cancer had prepared us for in a way. What we could not in anyway be prepared for was to also lose my 43 year old brother-in-law... her son.. Danny just minutes apart. Ellen and Danny may have had the “in-law” title.. but Ellen was a second mom and Danny and true brother.

Yesterday we said goodbye to Danny. I did choose my newest arrival British GA Dunn and Co as a nod to a little game he had with his beautiful daughters where they would greet each other in their best (or worst) British accent... ‘EhLow Guvnah!’ And the later dressed it up in Miami Dolphins colors as Danny was known lovingly around town as Dolphin Danny.

As rough as this loss is on me... it pales in comparison to that of my wife, her father and other brother, Danny’s wife and his two daughters along with my kids and the rest of the family. The 100s of people who turned out to honor him clearly showed how much he was loved.

Next week we will honor Ellen.

Condolences to you and your family Joe. Losing one loved one is tough enough, let alone two, especially when they depart way too soon. I wish the best for you all and may the healing begin soon.

So sorry to hear, Joe. My brothers in law are much like brothers to me, also.

Today...full disclosure. Not bragging but i have a lot of hats. Enough that i could be very well hatted for most occasions. And i have quite a few some might say are top shelf, maybe even grail hats.
But...the one i wear ten fold more than the rest combined it today’s.
So i’m showcasing, lol lol, not my grab and go but my house hat. I wear this constantly around the house and since i never go anywear (pun) it’s my daily date.
The don’t know a thing about it, unimpressive, uninspiring hat i love.
The Linpark Bristol Deluxe.
The thing is the felt on this hat is the most obedient, stay where you put it felt only matched or exceeded by a early 1900’s Boss Raw Edge.
None of the high dollar, museum grail, collectors hats i have get close to these two. Funny hat evolution to me.
Be well and safe.
Bowen
ALOT of character in that hat! Love it!

Borsalino Gorasgu with stately proportions and felted brim edge. Color of a wild ram, or perhaps the eclipsed moon.

It's a hat that eclipses many others, so I'll go for the wild ram. Glad to see it once more, Alan.
One of your best, Dave.

Great contrast on that one, Perry.

Plenty of shade from that one, Brent.
