LOL! I doubt that very much. I should’ve done this from the start. Plan is one more of acetone (I ran out) then wet sand with 1k grit and buff with1.2k grit sandpaper and see where I’m at. If I can 90-99% of the russet out I may just seal it and skip the cordo dye. If not then at least she’ll be prepped for that.

reminds me of that suede treatment I just did. I know you having fun and that's what's most important. And actually looks good. But for people just trying to find a nice jacket at 300-350 price point, I guess higher now with CXL and horse upgrades, I think there's an easier path though. Unless of course you designing your own thing, having fun again with the process, etc. etc.
Is there? Where else can you get a totally custom jacket for 300-350? There's a lot of value here.
Having said that I didn't consider a 5* until they upgraded their leather (I mean, I hope it's an upgrade) but for 350 or so it's worth a gamble.
And hopefully it's a sign of more to come. I feel they need more thick, robust leathers (rather than all the thin goat options) with more black on tap, and better browns (no chocolate milk, no terra cotta, etc.). If they perfect a few selections like that, sky's the limit for them. My 2 cents.

well, like I said, if it's because you want custom (certain design, certain specs where OTS won't fit, having fun with the designs, etc.) of course. But if you chasing these because of the leather, well, just look to our classifieds. Most Schotts can be had for $300-400 range. A lot of Aeros are going for sub $500. There's a Thedi racer that will blow your mind for $550.
Ah, fair enough. That isn't me. I'm an athletic size 46. Been looking for used Aeros for a year and saw literally nothing. Guys in the 38-42 range can change jackets on the classifieds like Underoos.
I actually really like the leather. It’s thick and clearly robust. I’ve beaten the snot out of it. The problem I have is the color. The russet brown is not at all as advertised. It’s the worst brown I’ve ever laid eyes on and I say that having owned a close runner up in LW’s russet. Both are dead eyed, lobotomies of dull sorrow.
hm ... maybe i should also remove the topcoat of my chocolate trucker with acetone? the question is what the goat looks like underneath.

LOL. I've got this Andrew Marc jacket, also made in Pakistan, I swear to God I was subconsciously trying to ruin the thing to justify buying something else. Sand paper, dozens of hours in the wash and dryer. Still as good as new. I think a lot of people are past thick and resilient though, although better to have at least that. Most of the mall stuff is shiny cardboard, that will never evolve, won't last, and you'll look like everyone else wearing the same pattern. I got the feeling from wearing my 5* a bunch of times that that was going to be what it looks like forever, LOL. Not a bad thing for some I guess, but wasn't what I was looking for. Lets see what the new leathers do, but if I'm being honest, it seems to be getting expensive again vs. having the option to pick up quality jackets on used market if they fit you. Although I am holding a spot open for possible B3 style vest like Mr. Proper has. That thing is epic.

The used option is always available and it’s true that you can *maybe find a gem in your size for the same price, if not a little more or less. The mistake I made was straying from the two colors I know 5 star can do successfully. I am certain that at this point I can successfully dye it. Is this a process I want to repeat? No, not really.
