Eastman Leather Star Sportswear A-2 (size 42)
Just got this awesome Olive drab short sleeve cotton canvas field shirt from C.C. Filson. Not unlike L.L. Bean cotton canvas shirts but L.L.Bean didn't have a vintage WWII Army Olive Drab... they have some nice greens but not like this one. Filson is a bit more pricey than LL though.
True to fit whereas LL Bean shirts always run very large (just FYI to keep in mind.)
Paired with a modern chocolate brown polyester neck tie and Bronson 1942 Army khaki chinos, vintage NOS 1942 army canvas web belt from JQMD (Jeffersonville Quartermaster Intermediate Depot ) and a 1948 Royal Stetson Whippet fedora.

Saturday night and I'm drunk with my friends (you guys). This Schott 618 seriously rocks as a motorcycle jacket. I would put it against any Shinki for M/C use. $700 vs $2000. Are you gonna patch up a Shiki or a Schott? Ride in the the rain? Schott vs Shinki for m/c use?

I prefer thicker leather to ride. If the Shinki is thick, like the one used on my SB CR, then I’m good to go.
those high chairs seem not ideal to prop your jacket, might topple backward.

Ha, i always check high chairs before hanging my jackets on them. They have to be sturdy and well balanced.
You are in great shape buddy, deserves respect. It's already a rarity at this time.
I hear you! I love Miami; some of the nicest folks you can meet in the US, and the atmosphere is great. But living there? Seems to me it’s either too humid to wear a jacket, or you have a thunderstorm and it’s too humid AND too wet to wear a jacket…

Gracias. Figured that with the move I’d seriously hit the weights again. Been 8 years. Didn’t realize how much I miss it.
Miami gets sort of a bad rap but if you make the initial approach, most folks will talk to you. Though the city isn’t as overtly friendly as other places I have lived or visited.
And my jacket collection only grew in that city for two reasons. My bike, and my sickness. Too humid for sure.

Sorry for the drunken post last night. lol. I was just thinking about this 618. It has a few design flaws, but overall makes for a great m/c jacket, for the most part in the $700 price range ( you can usually find 10-15% off). The hardware is tough, the main zipper is rated for m/c use, stiching and construction is great (imo). The leather is nice, but not too nice. It can handle patches, pins, scrapes, and beer spills. I am just wondering if the Japanese jackets are TOO nice and perfect to really be put to the test.
I would LOVE to see one of these high end jackets after some serious abuse. Bug guts, sun fades, a few patches and pins. Ridden hard and put away wet in a saddle bag a few hundred times. I hope some guys out there are really putting some hard wear on these jackets. I bet they would look remarkable 15-20 years from now. Just a few of my thoughts from last night. lol.
That is one good looking jacket J! We need to see more of this guy in the future. That Shinki looks stunning. I know you ride it hard and it is starting to show! Keep putting the miles on it.
