The St Valentine's Day Massacre occurred on February 14, 1929 inside the SMC Cartage Co Garage,
2122 N Clark Street, Chicago; the garage was torn down thirty-eight years later in 1967. A portion
of the execution wall is exhibited at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas; other bricks-taken as souvenirs
when the garage was demolished still circulate for purchase. These talismans reportedly carry curses.
Chicago police k9 dogs have shown certain agitation at the now grassy lot where the garage stood,
people report hearing moans and sobbing when walking past the yard.

When I was a kid it was custom to show visitors and new kids on the block back in the old hood
Al Capone's grave in Mount Olivet Cemetery, just as a ritual of sorts. He was subsequently disinterred to another
cemetery in the northern suburbs The reason eludes recall. My grandmother claimed to have seen Capone
attending Mass at St Columbanus Church the day of the massacre.

I don’t know. This seems like a great deal. A haunted, abandoned village is for sale in Scotland… and it only costs 125k British Pounds. Beautiful location. Comes with its own ghost story and ruined buildings. Maybe a great place to establish a summer camp, fishing camp, or maybe a new age retreat center. :)

Looks like the kind of place I'd like to spend a weekend (or perhaps more) exploring.

Rail Ghosts and Hauntings:
Just a normal train journey can encounter the unexplained as it is reported that between London & Carlisle a woman dressed in black and wearing a veil has been seen sitting quietly and disappearing without warning. She is believed to be a bride whose new husband had stuck his head out of a window and was decapitated. Found holding his body once they reached London, totally insane, her spirit has been making the journey ever since.

At Norwich it is reported that the station is home to a frightful entity which takes the form of a rat-like creature with large teeth and obnoxious breath. You may snigger and sneer and put forward that maybe the traveller who experienced some of these might have been a little worse for drink, late at night on the last train home from a darkened platform but over in Nottingham at Mapperley Tunnel, two school children playing in the tunnel heard a steam engine rapidly approaching them and terrified they ran out into the fresh air. A few seconds after their escape they realised that the train could not have existed, as the north end of the tunnel had been bricked up! Not far away at Sherwood Rise Tunnel near former New Basford station a phantom man swinging a lamp was seen emerging from the tunnel and walking a short distance along the track before vanishing. He was thought to be an engine driver killed during the 1890s.

Lets take a closer look at some other stories as reported across the country.

Halsall (Lancashire) – Disused railway bridge at a nature reserve – While videoing on the bridge, one man picked up the sounds of railway carriages running along the disused tracks, though nothing could be actually seen.
Exeter (Devon) – St Thomas railway station – Sitting on the platform with her dog, a women heard the sound of heels walk past her twice, although no one could be seen. The dog circled and barked before rolling over and acted as if being stroked.
Falmouth (Cornwall) – Penmere Station – While walking home, a witness heard loud, distorted music coming from the station. He went to investigate, and encountered two girls dressed in Victorian clothing (but no source of the music). One pointed down the tracks, as if she wanted the witness to follow, but he decided to turn around and leave the site.
Garsdale Head (Cumbria) – Area around the railway station – A local legend says this area is haunted by a person killed on the track. One signalman spotted a figure pass his box, but could not find anything after investigating.

There's many more unexplained railway phenomenon, see here: https://ribblesteam.wordpress.com/2016/01/30/rail-ghosts-and-hauntings/

GHT, that first story about the groom sticking his head out the window and getting decapitated is especially creepy. I wonder if anyone has ever reviewed the police records to see if such a death ever actually occurred on that line.

Here is another ghost story out of the USA. Strange occurrences at an abandoned school…

The ringing phone reminded me of the following, in which a confirmed skeptic recounts an experience that shook his skepticism. On the day of his wedding, his fiancée’s long-dead-radio that had belonged to her grandfather unexplainably came to life playing romantic songs. After the wedding day, it went dead again.

No duh. Brains might sync as people interact. My wife and I frequently think the same thoughts, even in very random ways. Sometimes it is spooky. The question is “is this due to long time familiarity, or are brains capable of actually sync-ing?” Studies might indicate the later, which could upend current thinking about the nature of consciousness. Fascinating stuff, with possible weird implications. If this is true, then maybe some people can sync more easily and completely than others.

^ That is nothing. Here in Chicago the dead are allowed to vote. And the nite isn't called until all
the cemetery precinct ballots are counted.
Of course, only Democrat cemetery precincts. Apparently there are no Republican cemetery precincts.:)

That just has to be a joke, so I thought, The Brits are exceptionally good at being inept, but even here the deceased take their vote with them to the grave.

Forgive my scepticism, I just had to look that up and here's what I found:
CHICAGO (CBS) — Susie Sallee was buried in 1998. Yet records show she voted in Chicago 12 years later.

Victor Crosswell died in 1994, but records show he’s voted six times since then.

And then there’s Floyd Stevens. Records show he’s voted 11 times since his death in 1993.

“It’s crazy,” Sharon Stevens Anderson, Stevens’ daughter, tells CBS 2’s Pam Zekman. “I don’t see how people can be able to do something like that and get away with it.”

Those are just a few of the cases CBS 2 Investigators found by merging Chicago Board of Election voter histories with the death master file from the Social Security Administration.

In all, the analysis showed 119 dead people have voted a total of 229 times in Chicago in the last decade.

John F Kennedy was elected President of the United States by Chicago mayor Richard Daley
with city Democratic machine manipulation; including cemetery precinct involvement.
Richard Nixon to his credit, decided not to contest Kennedy's election.

Seems facetious but entirely factual. Political corruption here is a cold hard fact and elections are
never entirely accurate however egalitarian the actual process.;)

...Political corruption here is a cold hard fact...
My wife's family and friends who live in the Chicago area all say the same thing. And my father-in-law, before he died, would also say the same thing, except that he would add something to the effect of, "We would vote for whoever was corrupt in a way we wanted." :p
