It was 59 degrees in the mountains when I left for work this morning, so my first official outing in my La Brea.

I was told that even at the end, HH was a "good man" and "treated his people well." Unfortunately there were a lot of "unsavory types" who ended up taking control of things.

@Carlos840 not only do we both think LW and Vanson are worth collecting (I’m way behind), but we use similar systems to shuffle through the collections. I too keep a few out and tend to focus on them for a couple/few weeks. A few for special occasions as you said. I also have a few that I call my “errand” jackets. Throw them on for quick honey-do runs or stuff like that. And then a couple that are only for wearing unzipped. Temperature driven and thinner hides. Unlike a few others here, I prefer to wear my jackets zipped. When I sit down I unzip them, but otherwise zipped up.

I take two or three Aero jackets with me (usually two) when I am overseas on contract; when I go back to the UK (once a year; sometimes two) I rotate them. This means that a pair of jackets will get six months' continual wear (seasons, etc.). I'm lucky in that I only own six Aeros with a seventh in the works. If I had to pick a permanent three for all-the-time, I reckon they'd be a 1950s Goat HB, the Maxwell and a Cafe Racer. I am fairly sure I need to just own four in total, but 'need' and 'want', eh?

Has to be said that temperature extremes mean that the jackets get a battering before winter, definitely during and for about a month after.

I mostly wear the same ones, maybe 10 or so on a regular basis.
I would say 80% of the time when i leave the house i am wearing a LW, a Vanson or my FW LaBrea. ( I have 15 LW, 13 Vansons, 2 LaBreas, so that alone is quite a rotation even though some rarely get worn like the LW B-2 or the Vanson B-3...)

The rest of the days, i have some i wear "somewhat regularly" like Lewis Mk2, Johnson WWL-41, Langlitz Columbia, some that i wear for "special occasions" like the ELMC Californian and Windward and my RMC JH-1 and some that i rarely/never wear (once a year or less) like my Aero Bootleggers, my Diamond Dave J-100 and JH-01, Himel Chevalier,Cal, Schott, Thurlow.

The way i do it is that i usually have three jackets on the floor next to the front door (in the coat room), these are my three jackets for the week, i pick one of the three everytime i leave the house. Sometimes i will wear all three throughout the day.
At some point in the week i will not fancy wearing one of the three and will go pick one from upstairs, usually wear it for the day and then put it back upstairs (usually that's when the Lewis, Johnson, Langlitz come into play)
At the end of the week i'll swap the three door jackets and wear three different ones for a week.

This week for example i have these three by the door.

But today it's been raining all day and i felt like wearing a jacket that needed a water hit so i switched to this one:

Next week i will probably swap the Vanson Cheyenne for this Thedi that arrived today:

And i'll keep the two LW by the door one more week as they are the newest ones and need the wear most.
There is some method to the madness!

I have tried this „weekly rotation“ approach, but from the jackets I would pick for the weeks, I just ended wearing the same one every day for the week. It was like I put out three contenders and one of them just „won“. I have now surrendered myself to my habits and just pick one jacket for the week. Now, with the warm weather in Germany (20+°C every day for a few weeks now) it‘s mostly my Cockpit A-2, Aero A-2 (which I dislike more and more every time I put it on after the Cockpit) or my JL modified M-200.

From your rotation this week, I like the JL best. CLX is just very hard to beat on pictures and that two-tone is just too cool.

Just out of curiousity, what is it about the Aero that makes you dislike it compared to the Cockpit?

German 50's or 60's, no clue, motorcycle leather jacket of unknown make. Wore it yesterday evening and today, as it's cooler, though it is a very warm jacket. Just too nice in every aspect. Thanks @Marc mndt for yet again helping me out with this one.

Dang this jacket looks good on you. Definitely a style/design you don't see every day. The shoulder padding which is typical for German mc of this era may not be to everyone's liking but I think it goes well with the style. This jacket has presence.
