This is certainly a quality piece of leather! I would have made an offer, but just too small for me. I did not think of Seattle Woolen, but it well could be. It appears to have the wartime V pocket zipper like mine had. Not sure of the date of the Crown Zipper. I haven't compared pics.

Nice vest if you can wear it. The leather looks in great shape and fairly substantial.

That Badge Holder, the Belt Loops, the epaulettes and the V zips are all dead ringers for the Seattle Woolens as far as I can tell.

That main crown zipper may or may not be original. I tend to think it is though........ the two Woolen's I have, (one was yours Terry as you know), have different Talon zippers with one having the Talon #10 Paper Clip style and the other having a later nickel #10 Talon. If these were in service as Cop jackets for real, I would assume heavy repeated use of the main zippers which would tend to lead to failures followed by replacement zips. Once there's a replacement, it throws off the dating if one is relying heavily on the main zipper to date. The zippers on mine could well both be replacements. Perhaps for a previous Crown.

It has been mentioned (including by the Seller) that the Crown main zipper is rare and valuable. This is true but it is also a USED Crown---so YMMV. My understanding is the metal used for the tracks on these is relatively brittle with age even on NOS. I was trying to replace a Crown on an old jacket forever. Crown zippers are almost non existent as NOS. They are so pricey and that even the potential risk of failure dampens the appetite to replace a Crown with another Old Crown. For me at least. The possibility of paying for a quality older vintage jacket, then $200ish for the rarely found Crown zipper and another $100 for the tailor to install it only to have one of the teeth break off.......... It not only COULD be a sad waste of funds, but it also wastes the Vintage leather in the zipper area as yet ANOTHER replacement would be needed trying to hit those same original stitch holes and this can weaken the leather. Sort of a hair splitting gripe but with really old stuff, I don't want to stress it more that I have to so I try to be smart about replacing main zippers.

All of this to say...... what I already said.....that...uhhhhhhhhh.......I think this could be a Seattle Woolen.

Seattle Woolen is sorta the Granddaddy of Filson for those who don't know. ;)

I have to agree with your there! Is it shiny because it's just been oiled or it's just naturally like that? Here's to hoping an LAPD in my size shows up.
it's probably a smaller size. I don't think he has the jacket zipped up on that ptp (really reverse ptp) pic he has. So there's probably an inch less or so in the actual measurement. Also the 18 shoulder is an indicator. I bet this is a size 40, vintage 40, so prob like a 38. Nice long length too at 26 on the beaver tail, which basically means about a 24.5 or 25 on the "real" length. But the sleeves are long at about 26. I think you had your other one tailored, so probably doesn't work. Think this was custom for a long, lankier type of body.

the belt is worth $150 easy, the collar for sure close to $200. He's definitely high on price though. Needs to be cut in half at least.

One of mine is naturally shinier than the other. So, I can’t answer your question lol.

Both are amazing.

Looks like it, although I don't want to dabble in these old Cals anymore unless it's a real size 36 and will fit me without needing more work done to it. Definitely long in the back/sleeves for my short self and especially the price lol so im thrilled it won't work for me! There was that recent star glove that was close to my size but it was too small in the chest so didn't bother on it

Thanks. It's just one of those batch to batch kind of luck of the draw. Atleast you have one of each lol

I thought the same concerning the sizing.
How about this? It has been relisted repeatedly over the last 30 days, so they might entertain an offer.

Thanks for the link. Its far too biker aestetic than what she wants. I think this brown suede biker jacket is very close aestetically to a jacket she admired on Reese Witherspoon from The Morning Show. The two share somewhat similar dimensions so she regularly cops her style. No clue on make/model of the exact one from the show.

A 50s Hercules, medium. The collar especially is in bad shape. But not only.

Put another log on the Fire!! Ha, Check out that label, red quilt lining, sleeve zipper position, through belt, D pocket. Never seen this combination. This label appears on the Wool lined jackets. Never seen it on a red lined jacket. A nice piece of the Hercules puzzle. Two other early jackets like this have just been posted, but with the newer Hercules label.

Thanks for posting this!! I almost didn't look at all the pics. I just saw the price! This is a great find in Hercules MC history.
