It may have been stated already, but ALL Reality Television. The word, "physicality". Pain, old age, cancer, local TV News from 4 PM until 7 PM. Overpaid athletes, with college degrees, who can't speak English.

"All news" broadcasting formats in general. They've degenerated from "give us ten minutes, we'll give you the world" to a distasteful melange of shock headlines delivered by glass-voiced anchors, idiotic "analysis" by idiots who should be seeing analysts, thundering music cues composed by "Guitar Hero" devotees, and witless commercials for shoddy products designed to prey on the desperate, the gullible and the stupid. If they think their listeners are "news junkies," well, they're half right.

I won't miss it, when they stop letting men compete against women, in sports competitions.
When the "Woke" people finally wake up; a person born as a man, who identifies as a woman, will no longer be allowed to compete in women's combat sports. It's one thing for a man to run faster, and beat a girl in a track meet. But a man going into a cage, to knee strike a girl in the head?
Or a huge dude beating all the girls in weightlifting.

That would be like me, a short, fat, old guy, being allowed to play in The NBA with a handgun. I could just shoot Steph Currie in the foot.
If someone identifies as a female, wants to live as a female, use a feminine name, and use female pronouns.....they have every right. To demand that everyone in the world accept you as a female? I have a different comfort zone. Transgenders should have every right to basic human rights and dignity. Nobody should discriminate against trans-people when it comes to employment, housing, financial credit, access to a business for goods and services...... but I draw my own line at a trans-girl beating up girls in the ring.

I know very little about Mr. Musk, but it’s next to impossible not to know SOMETHING about the fellow. I hear that he is prone to online outbursts that have people looking askance. But I haven’t looked into that, for pretty much the same reason that I don’t much care what’s in the pages of People Magazine or the National Enquirer.
Henry Ford wasn’t such a glowing character, either.

Now that there’s an all-electric F-150, it’s time for the Neds to put down the pitchforks and accept that electric vehicles are increasingly replacing gas burners. Gasoline (and diesel) powered vehicles will likely be with us as long as most of us here will continue drawing breath, or so I suspect, but, like two-strokes, they’ll mostly be relics of a bygone era.

We just bought a new SUV. I mentioned to my wife that perhaps we should consider buying an electrical car......she countered by stating if I bought one of the those abominations she would buy herself an F150 to cancel me out. You can take the girl out of Alberta but apparently not the Alberta out of the girl. So now we have added 6cyl of hydrocarbon burning beast to go with the 10cyl Ford Triton in our RV.

Musk himself is bad enough, but the online cult that trails in his wake, sniffing rapturously at his every exhalation, is unbearable. All the worst features of comic book, computer, video game, science-fiction, math-team, "startup culture" and cryptocurrency nerdery boiled up into one oleaginous mass, with absolutely no lovable quirks. They make 1930s Technocrats seem well-adjusted.
As for electric cars, I have no view one way or another, except I think they should be required by law to have some kind of noise-making attachment simulating the sound of a conventional engine. I've almost been run down in crosswalks twice this summer because I couldn't hear the electric-car coming.

Longevity is among my primary concerns with personal vehicles. In this domestic unit is a need for wheelchair accessibility — in the home, on the grounds, and in at least one motor vehicle. Accessible vans, like so many “adaptive” contraptions, are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. We’ve been fortunate to have come across used accessible vans in decent condition at almost reasonable prices, but we know we can’t expect always to find such bargains. So we just keep fixing the things. We replace major components in a vehicle we would never sink that kind of dough into if it weren’t for its wheelchair accessibility. The accessibility modifications on our current van, for instance, cost the original owner more than $30K, which was about the price of the van itself.
A few years back we were rear-ended with such force that our van was clearly totaled (stretched roof, bowed-out quarter panels, etc., an obvious total loss). I told the at-fault party’s insurer to spare us both the hassle of coming back with an offer of the book value of a ’98 Ford Windstar with 201K miles on it, which was next to nothing. But that’s what they did anyway. So after a month or so of back-and-forth, we settled on a minimally acceptable figure. All that time they were paying the $125 per day fee for an accessible rental van.

The batteries required to move my 18,000lbs of RV would probably take another vehicle to house them.
