These Prada's have got to be my favorite purchase ever and I mean it. Quality, which is tremendous, aside, there's just something about the way they're shaped that's just I dunno, perfect IMO. If I could find another pair like that, I'd buy it in a nanosecond, just to have a back-up.

From slightly longer and uphill morning bicycle ride, just brushed cotton cossack, leather is too sweaty for pedalling in the sun. I find my boyscout time waterbottle in my storage room, must have been 30yrs old at least, the cover has faded from OD green to rust, i wish i can find some place i can buy this lift the dot snap for my jacket locally.
I hope my cossack jacket will fade like this after few months of cycling.

Thanks! It’s a lot like some of your 5star designs, but with a little extra “groovy” added in. The collar shape is now my favorite and my new standard going forward. The color is quite interesting- kind of copper/ purple-burgundy/ brown depending on the light. You should be on the lookout for a 44.

Lol those gigantic snaps that go all the way through, I forgot all about them! Had the exact same bottle in the army, except our holder was more Commie olive. I got the plastic one as a "new" issue but some of the guys had tin ones which were actually cool.
i like this snap. I bet it looks real cool on patch pocket flap. yeah mine was from the late 80s, plastic bottle with aluminum mug and nylon(?) cover, it was original army version, many of their stuff are sold to the market as brand new (either military members probably sell their annual new stuff and keep using their old one, or perhaps "leaked" from the factories or from their logistic depots), it is not even under the table, many camping outdoor suppliers sell these stuff brand new, I bought this on traditional market one morning, and also m1945 styled small backpack from heavy canvas for camping in my elementary school boyscout trip, I used it during my junior highschool too, then totally forgot about them as we don't have obligatory scout from highschool onward.
lucky in my time in university our country abolished university student regiment just few years prior due to being unpopular and the weakening of then army centric dictator regime. so I never got drafted

That snap gave me anxiety when I saw it. I hated every second of it. Well, almost, as I have had some good time in the army too but overall they literally stole a year of my life. Or 9 months or something like that. Just useless altogether...
Anyway, the deal here is that the army switches to something new and up to standard every 10 or so years and all the "old" stuff ends up on a surplus market but since it's basically all NOS, re-sellers can flip it all as 'brand new'.
War was just about over and done when I enlisted and my first gear was literally a mix of junk from five different armies. However, since it was all mostly 70's stuff, the material, fit and construction was up to a really high standard which is something I wasn't even aware of until they made us switch to brand new, locally made uniforms that were 90% plastic! These were SO incredibly bad that at one point, people refused to wear them. They were uncomfortable, hot and were literally falling apart at the seams but that's what you get outta any government that and switches from socialism to insta-capitalism within a year. Some crooks got the job with the government to make uniforms, through means of nepotism and this is what we ended up with. Just about when I was was done with the army, we were issued Nato standard gear which was again wonderful, since they couldn't scam on these as it had to be made to the exact Nato approved specs. Needless to say, the government had to turn to an actual local clothing company with decades of history for these, one that nearly went bankrupt after the fall of the previous regime. It all made me realize that the vermin indeed have inherited the earth.
Just unboxed this beauty. I can see why jmax found it tight in the shoulders. They are wide but I can feel them across the back. Works well enough for my purposes though. Passaic makes a great jacket!

Looks great. I felt it where you say- upper back/rear shoulders and delts. I was too afraid I would tear a seam reaching for a beer. Too bad. Such a killer jacket. I think you gots a winner man.
I’m thinking 70’s. Two panel sleeves too. Jmax undersold the hide. It’s sublime! Reminds me very much of Bates Dominion leather from the 70’s. Lightweight but has some body, crisp and amazing grain!

I couldn’t get a hold of Monitor to properly sell the jacket. I am incapable of his awesome flourishes.
The hide is amazing. I’m watching one in a 48 to see if it works. A bit high right now…CR though.
