Question about AE Broadstreet Spectators?

To anybody that has bought these new,

Are the brogue holes in the black, black or white?

I bought a used pair on eBay and the holes were white, but when I started cleaning them, the holes turned out to be black on black and white on white.

The shoes were coated several layers deep in that nasty white shoe paint and I think the white in the holes was just overflow.

I've got most of it off and the natural color is a much nicer cream shade.

Well, I found some better pictures on the Shoedini website and unlike most spectators the AE do not show white through the perforations.
