I was a little daunted by my first ever eBay purchase, but safe to say I am more than happy with this one. My first Schott too. It needs a little fixing up in some places (the collar), and it may be a tad short in the body - which for me is an effing miracle, but I'm gushing over this one.

Nice. I have same jacket (I think, there's a few variations in this style from Schott). Mine is a little short in the sleeves. I might try the patent pending sleeve extender method this weekend. Otherwise I'm saving for my kids. Really cool patina, very comfy, got to dig the collar. I already swapped out the knits and gave it some good conditioner. Should be good for another 40 years.

Levis Bluestar.JPG

Enjoying a major change in the weather - dropped 25 degrees F from the past few days and it's raining for the first time in months. Finally getting to wear this new-to-me Levi's Bluestar goatskin 1930s influenced jacket. Kind of similar to the short-waisted Menlo halfbelt, but this one just has waist level side cinches (no halfbelt), lots of French seams, great leather, and a fraction of the price of the Menlo. I wasn't able to find much online about the Bluestar line of leather jackets from Levi's Europe, so I was hoping the quality was going to match what I'd read about the Levi's Bluestar jeans - high quality, attention to detail, small production runs. Sounded kind of like the Menlo line but without the distressed leather (which I've read mixed reviews on). I've not handled a Menlo, but this Bluestar is definitely a quality jacket made from very nice, medium thick, very durable feeling goatskin (size 36 jacket weighs 2.5 lbs). Still have to get used to the short waist, but seems like this will be a very easy to wear, daily-use jacket for mild temps. Definite winner!

The black Nappa blouson (sheep). Some photos, but it's black in reality, not this dark-grey.

But I still love it and wear it to death! It's lightweight for a leather jacket and so versatile.
