What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

We're enjoying late summer weather in September here in Denmark with temperatures at 20°+. Far too warm to be wearing a stiff felt, but I just couldn't resist wearing this recent arrival, a 1930s Hückel Bowler.

The bright sunshine brought out its almost NOS condition much better than any other lighting would, so glad I wore this one today even though it wasn't for very long.

Have a great weekend folks. View attachment 360505 View attachment 360506
You look very happy with it, Steve. Quite rightly so!

Dobbs “Westward” View attachment 360765 The practical voice inside my head often says, “Why acquire more vintage hats than you need?”
“Why do you keep searching for a better sounding acoustic guitar?”
“There’s no need for another chrome doodad on your motorcycle!”
“Don’t you dare eat that!”
All very good interjections.
Thankfully, the winning voice says, “Shut up and enjoy life when you can!”

Lazy week, so not out and about every day. Only four this time.

Yesterday was a two hat day. First, a Penney's Marathon Strat clone for running afternoon errands.

Last night, a free show by Dave Greer's Classic Jazz Stompers downtown. I figured this Disney Milan was jazzy enough.

Jenna was beside herself with excitement at the show.

This morning, the Mallory Commander went to mass with me. Because what this country needs is a good ten dollar hat!

Your Marathon looks to have more brim than a Stratoliner. The color is great too.

Mallory sure made a great hat. Do you know if The Commander was pre or post Stetson?

Looks like a fine hat, Marcel. I admit I have never heard of the brand before though.

Very nice parade of hats, Jim. The Marathon is an easy winner to my eye.

That’s a lazy week I could get behind! As per usual, great hats all!
Thanks, Brent.

All four excellent
Thank you, Joe.

5 1/2" x 2 11/16". It's in the ballpark.

As far as the Commander, I really don't know. We have some ads for the Commander from the 40s, but there are none of the common clues we usually point to to be sure. If it is, it's the only one I have.

Thanks, Joe. @Michael A (who's been absent of late) has a Marathon in what I think is the same color.

Thanks, Stefan. Your parade wasn't too shabby, either. This Marathon is one of the jewels in my collection.

Gorgeous hat, Randall. I don't care much for feathers myself, but why not?

Thanks, Stefan.

So you’re publicly admitting that you are a bird racist.
Birds matter, dude.
I, for one, like birds.
Game birds and chicken, mostly.

Yeah, I have a pile of hat feathers that have been yanked outta many a hatband on my dresser. However, on a few of my hats I like them.
Folks have been sticking bird feathers in felt hats since the beginning of felt hats.
Bleeve it’s called macaroni.
