When I first got the jacket a year or so ago, I was several pounds heavier, and while it fit, it was quite tight and unless I was wearing just a tshirt, it was almost impossible to zipper. Now, after some considerable slimming down, the fit is great(actually, a little big when just wearing a tshirt), and plenty of room for a bulky sweater, or, as in the picture, a jean jacket underneath. That combo was needed today as it's turned quite brisk in Northern California.
That music represents many years of collecting. Another passion.

It’s the asymmetrical nature of the wear that’s unique. Different (poorly) matched hides might do that, but that zipper is also pretty wavy. The only other explanation might be a right-hand drive convertible in UK weather. Is it on the way to you? Should be interesting to inspect the rest of the jacket for clues.
I don't think this difference in grain between sides could come from wear. More likely different hides for different panels. I think it has its charm, I would wear it.

Old label with liner zip (newer stitching)
The hide is pretty heavy, more than my Black (hoop zip pulls), nearer to the 654. It's very waxy almost feels like a Horse hide.
If it's been bailed it was laid flat rather than balled up. I'm not sure if I should Pecard it or give it a steam (?)
It is a better fit for me than the Black older one so I think I will move that one on.
