Better late than never. Co-founder & bassist of the British rock band 'Status quo' Alan Lancaster died from complications of multiple sclerosis a few days ago (26th) aged 72.

A blast from the past.

Underrated on this side of the pond, but they were (are) great.

Conchata Galen Ferrell died in December 2020.

R.I.P.
Her middle name was actually Gayle. But, unlike a lot of "celebrities", her real name was Conchata Ferrell. I first became aware of her way back in 1975 when she was a cast member on a sitcom called Hot l Baltimore that was canceled after only 13 episodes due to low ratings (or so said the network). Her character, April Green, was a prostitute. Her cast members included James Cromwell, Charlotte Rae, Al Freeman Jr., and Richard Masur, so talent wasn't the problem. Anyway, I enjoyed her performances whenever I saw her in anything and was sorry to learn of her passing.

The various online sources say Galen, perhaps she used Gayle as a short form.

I knew her best oddly from the sitcom Hearts Afire.
That's one I've never heard of, but she had a rather lengthy resume--roles in 131 television shows and movies over 40 years.

That's what I get for only looking at one source. You and Trenchfriend are right, more websites have listed her middle name as Galen than Gayle. My apologies.

British composer, lyricist & playwtight, Leslie Bricusse OBE has died aged 90.
As well as composing the lyrics for two Bond movies ( 'Goldfinger' & 'you only live Twice') he also wrote the songs for many musicals, Doctor Doolittle a Willie Wonka & the chocolate factory, to name but 2.
Oh all right then, here's another one of his you might know.

Actor Peter Scolari, arguably best known for appearing in the television shows Bosom Buddies, Newhart, and Girls, has died at the age of 66. It was reported that Mr. Scolari had been dealing with an undisclosed form of cancer for the last two years.

This is sad! He had a good career, but I lways felt bad for him, given the superstardom Hanks went on to. Not that Hanks was undeserving, just to be remembered by many as "the other guy in Bosom Buddies.
