Today was a wonderful day to photograph felts. Overcast sky and total clarity.
I thought of a purchase many years ago, in reality my first lot almost entirely made up of Borsalino which were sold on the stalls in Turin and its surroundings.
This was the first one I had restored by the "Cappelleria Melegari" in Milan.
Perfect work because originally the hat was really shabby.
Let's continue with the" Argento-Argent"color of Borsalino which is never the same.
The ribbon with pleated bow is "Asfalto - Asphalt"color.
Is one of those Borsalino called "Grand Prix"

A favorite WWI era Stetson clear nutria. This hat was in excellent condition when I received it, but the wide black ribbon (not sure if original) was hanging by a thread. I removed it and added this narrow horsehair band. The Fray sweatband is remarkable... supple and strong as if it has another hundred years in it. The store in this southern New Mexico town where it was sold appears to have been a supplier of military uniforms during the first World War.

Stroll up to the office with a close friend who has worked as a graphic designer for many years.
She was one of the best of our generation.
This unusual Borsalino accompanied me between red and yellow leaves and the last green.
Borsalino "Brughiera-Heath" with "Ombù" ribbon.
The felt is a pronounced heather, malleable and with one of the most interesting hatband colors among the Borsalino combinations.
We took a step back together when she and I conceived advertising campaigns.
It seems to me a century has passed
