Initially I thought I had received the hat in the wrong color, but I double-checked and that's the right color. Took some time, but now I like it. Up next, a hat that's actually a lighter shade of brown with the traditional Telescope crease:

I got this one thinking "Popeye Doyle" from The French Connection, but with my facial hair I think it looks more "Heisenberg" from Breaking Bad. Except, y'know, that it's reddish brown instead of black. Sadly, generic sizing made it necessary to use weatherstripping behind the sweat, but it's not too uncomfortable.

Thank you Sir! I've liked "low crease, brim up" style hats for as long as I can remember, probably because my mind associates them with "working class" people wearing them in movies and on TV--"Popeye" Doyle, Ed Norton, Archie Bunker, even Yogi Bear and Top Cat wore them. I'm hoping to eventually find one made from fur felt instead of wool without having to go custom because finances are tight for the foreseeable future; we'll see.

I’ve been fairly dormant for a while as I’ve been experimenting with trying different hats to find my exact favorite types . I tend to favor center dent fedora hats, with at least 1.75 to 2 1/2 inch brim, and Porkpie style.
Any thoughts on this new one I am wearing would be appreciated. More to come as I have a few other favorites on the way. Thank you

Looks good on you. Suits you. As for the quality, the industry is getting to the point “off the shelf” fit felt hats are getting to the same price point as custom made hats. So I think there will be more wool felt hats showing up. Not everyone can afford or wants to pay those prices.
A heads up. Wool can and does shrink in the rain. Give it a hit of Scotchguard every few months to help protect and preserve the hat.
