I know the feeling. My new Drug Rug...er, I mean Baja Jacket is about as "wild" as I'm willing to get, and it's...well, see for yourselves:

Aww, c'mon! A guy like you doesn't have at least one colorful tie-dye?
You would think, but no. Not these days, anyway. I think I might have had one back in the 60s when it was almost mandatory, but I never really found tie-dye appealing. Even my Hawaiian/Aloha shirts have rather conservative patterns on them. Well, except this one...

...and I got it only because it was loud and obnoxious, worn to a Halloween party back in 2013.

Give me your address. I'm going to send you a red t-shirt, LOL.

Hey all,

Not sure if this is the thread to post this; I don't believe one exists. Maybe make a new one called "Hat Hiccups"?

So long story short. My Father has been wearing the same Borsalino for over ten years and when he saw my Stetson Chatham, he wanted one after a time. A couple of the online hatters did not have the color he wanted, so he begrudgingly bought one on Amazon.
The store it came from was not a hat store. Not sure how they got their paws on a few hundred Stetsons. But they obviously tossed the hat boxes to clear up space, and maybe used the hats as a cusion once or twice. I went through the reviews, it's not the first time this has happened.
Does anyone suppose Stetson just sold all their dud hats to someone to sell at new and non dud prices?

Caveat Emptor.

Cheers to uncrushed hats.

I haven’t had a drug rug since the 1980s. Spring breaks in San Felipe or Ensenada are some of my favorite memories.
I've always liked them, but for whatever reason never got one for myself until about 10 years ago. Being me, i.e. a dumbass, I solicited advice from fellow Lounger scottyrocks when he posted about how much he liked them, then pretty much ignored it and bought one made from recycled soda bottles or some such. Not completely horrible, but 10 years later still not particularly soft so I got the one in the photo. BIG difference, and now I see why so many people like 'em (even those not bringing illegal substances across national borders).

A crushed Fedora is no big problem. Be worse if it was a crushed Bowler.
All your father's hat needs is some steam.

Well it was the principle behind it. It was advertised as coming in a hat box. The "silver lining" to the experience was he liked the color he wasn't sure and found one at Delmonico and ordered that.

Very cool! 1920s?

Another old hat from the same auction. Listed as "Antique Mens Felt Hat No Size" ... turns out it is about a size 7 based on measurement photos they added later. Still ... I had to give it a shot and was happy when $56 bought this one.
