Being the Ricardos - Ricky/Desi's Casual Style

After watching Being the Ricardos I'm reminded how much I loved Ricky's (Desi Arnez) style.

I always loved Ricky's (Desi Arnez) outfits when he was casual at home. He was sometimes in what looks like a type of belted Safari Jacket with matching trousers. It wouldn't be the "Eisenhower" jacket, this is longer but not a normal sport coat. It had an open collar, pockets on the breast and waist, buttoned with a tied belt. The fabric to me always looked like a Gaberdine or Twill. Something he'd wear around the house on a Saturday.

I've trolled the internet looking for photos of Ricky's outfits but they're mostly of his "Show" clothes, tuxedos and ruffled shirts.

I'd love to find something like this that is something casual to wear out but just can't find the look. I've had no luck finding stills from the show with this outfit.

Does anyone know or have any ideas what I'm talking about? Is this a Safari style casual suit in the 1950's?

Watch the long long trailer. When i saw it I laughed out loud. Apparenlty I’ve been dressing like Desi.

I saw Being the Ricardos last week and Des definitely had a style all his own.
His wardrobe not too much noticed since his style blended so perfectly with the man himself,
a character I knew somewhat but not as well as I thought. Des was so much more than a straphanger
second banana husband. Have to see this again and take more notice of other things.
