Still having luck with my $13 bids.

Looking forward to this one arriving. My first custom hat.

I didn't think my first custom would come from this maker, nor be in the style I evently chose. Though I decided to go against the "ususal" flow, I like and have a few hats in this style.

More to be revealed once the hat arrives.

For the record, Robert is a joy to work with.

Fortunately all my waiting ended late last week with the arrival of three hats in two days. The contentment lasted only a few hours before I began plotting my trip to the Garland outlet when I am in Dallas in 2 months. Just when you think the waiting is over...

I went to the Garland Outlet twice in the past two months and was disappointed. If you love cowboy hats, you have a good selection. But I hardly found anything in a 7 3/8 and what I did find was pretty cheap looking. But I have heard others have good success.

I was your competition. Congrats - can't wait to see more.
Thanks, Jim. I stretched my budget because I suspect this might be around 100 years old. Can't find a Knox label like this one on here.

I took it out of the freezer last night. Aside from being coated in a lot of dust it seems to be in good order. (That spot in the rear that looked possibly worn based on the seller's pic was just dust.) Hopefully I will get around to steaming, brushing, and taking some pics today.

Can't find much about this brand; picked it up from Etsy, same hat/seller was on Ebay for another $6 -- I'm guessing that's the fee charged by Ebay? Leather sweat band is stamped "genuine fur felt" . No paper size tag, and the seller measured the 'inside opening' so I'm taking a flyer on the size (fingers crossed). If it fits (I'm the oh so popular 7 3/8ths) I'm going to feel I really scored (it was cheap!). Looks to be in good shape. I'm guessing I got it only because the seller (who has excellent reviews) didn't put in the right search terms/descriptions, especially vis-a-vis size, and didn't have many pics. Anyone ever hear of Warwick, know anything about them (USA? Years active?) Seller called the color tan. WarwickLabel.jpg Warwick2.jpg Warwick1.jpg
