It was our first time trying this whisky, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided to try it in glasses when we got home. We polished off the rest of the bottle.

Getting ready for Chiefs hosting Titans on Football Night In America, with a Peters Bros Shady Oak Bankers Special 7X Seventy-five, a couple 4-packs of Sammy Smith Organic Chocolate Stout, Snyder’s Pretzel Knots, & fresh salty white kernel popcorn at game time. It’s not so much a chocolate taste that comes thru but the taste of fermented cocoa beans that makes Sammy’s so different from other chocolate stouts. In Mexico they serve a drink from fermented cocoa beans & a grain made from maize/corn, but I can’t remember the name. I’m thinking this stout will be good with salty snacks.

My wife picked up this Capt Morgan sliced apple spiced rum. I guess the green apple on the label had me thinking a green apple flavor. But this was just super sweet tasting almost like processed apple juice. I added a bit of lemon which helped give it a more real apple taste. Not too bad… but I probably wouldn’t choose to buy it again. Paired with 1950s Mallory

Late morning meeting brought bad news. By early afternoon when I got home under an Stetson OR 3X in charcoal gray with blue undertones, I was ready for NBD. Picked up a new tequila a while back, Santo Fino Tequila Reposado. When I drink a Repo I prefer those aged in a new unchared white oak casks. Beautiful turquoise colored bottle with clear see-thru cross.

Gordon & MacPhail have a couple bottlings of Caol ILa on the market but I’m not sure about distribution.

A quick search showed their Discovery Series pretty readily available, but not much beyond that.

Curiosity got the better of us, so after a dram of the Wee Beastie, we opened the Balvenie. I wore my Fed IV today, but already in PJs, so no hat to be seen.

Etsuko & I were both very impressed with the Balvenie. I don’t really have the vocabulary to describe what I tasted, but the sherry oak certainly came through. Loved it.

Boring winter-like day so HH started early with some Import Lagers & finished with some Una Familia Repo Tequila doubles. Distilled in MX, imported & bottled in KC. Lots of vanilla & caramel with a little bit of black pepper corns. Probably better in a cocktail than neat. A cold beer back is appreciated. With a VS in Navy.

Good evening folks. I have had some busy days were I have not commited time to posting. Apologies, but it has been important business. I have read along and enjoyed your posts. Thanks for sharing.

In the evenings I have enjoyed sipping some beers. My days have been starting early and I have been dutiful in sipping only a beer each evening. My evening indulgences are a treat.

I am sharing pics of (L-r) Founders All Day IPA, Guinness Draught, Surley IPA, and a Founders Porter tonight.

I tip my mug in your direction tonight. Salut, Eric -

Wore my Shudde Bros. 3X out and about this afternoon. After running some errands we stopped by a coffee shop and I had a Crikey IPA from Rueben's Brews, it was ok but not my favorite I've had lately.

On the way home we stopped by the liquor store and grabbed a bottle of Clonakilty Single Batch Irish Whiskey. I like it fairly well, I wish I was more whiskey literate though.
