Ok...I have really nice feet. No Kidding. They are very preeeeety feet. Even the guy with the foot fetish I once dated said so...and they know feet. *grins*

So I have this thing about them. No matter what dreadful shoes i might be wearing for work or whatever...I like having my toenails a nice color.....used to be black, these days it's red.

It's like a small secret rebellion against all the other things that have to be one way or another with one's appearance. No one else around me may know that I have spectacularly red toenails, but I know.

My fingernails constantly fall apart....but man....I have red toenails.

Secret Weapons of Mass pedi-struction indeed.

So what's your secret or non secret thing that gives you that oomph feeling?

Same with the red toenails! And it's not so secret, but scent is SO important! When I was 16 my mother bought me my first 'real' perfume and with it she gave me some sage advice "Find a scent and make it your own, wear it always and whenever someone smells it, they'll think of you." A very old-school beauty secret that I never forgot.

Red toenails for me, too. My fingernails are rarely painted, but I'm always fixing my toenail polish! That, and the fact that I'm wearing Besame makeup. Makes me feel like a million.

I have ugly feet: wide, oddly shaped, bony and the veins all stand out. So even my sandals cover them up fairly well. However, I do buff off the callouses and paint the nails...pink or white. I see a lot of red toenails and I want to be a little different.

feet; For the most part I don't care too much about what they look like, but when Springtime hits, I'm getting my pedicures as well...and yes, the toenails are red!!!!

This is a weird one...

The Smoky Eye!

I live under the adage that eyeliner makes everything better

, so even when I have vintage makeup on, I still do the upper lid. I can only do it when I'm in something modern, but it makes me feel good.

Once a makeup artist taught me how to do the proper smoky eye at home, there was no looking back. I have kinda tilted, almond shaped eyes so doing a big extravagant eye with a minimal lip made me feel like they "popped" for once.

Not red toenails here.

Now that Im starting to wear more open toed shoes, Im polishing my nails more by buffing. They are a bright healthy cream color that I love so I just shine em up and strut my stuff

Red toenails too! I make my boyfriend give me foot rubs all the time, so I figure my feet better look nice for him.

I saw one of you gals write about buffing away callouses. I wear custom orthotics in my shoes made of plastic, and they are pretty worn out, so parts of my feet rub against the plastic and/or my shoe in a way that makes heinous callouses. Do you recommend pumice stones for this sort of thing?

Another secret weapon is wearing my seamed stockings and girdle. Maybe no one else knows that I'm wearing real stockings, but I do, and I feel fabulous!

Back when I was a cosmetologist I used to do pedicures and this is what I would recomend for callouses... get a foot or body exfoliating scrub - or you can even make your own out of sugar and or salt, olive oil and some peppermint essential oil or whatever your favorite essential oil fragrance you might like. Mix the ingredients together with a few drops of the e/o. Then soak your feet and use the scrub first to soften things up and remove the dead skin, then make sure your pumice stone is dampened, do not use it dry and then go to town on that callouse. You can even give your self a mini pedicure while you are at it soak your feet in some warm water, float a few rose petals in the water with some essential oils. Use a cuticle oil or remover and a cuticle pusher. Use the scrub and then the pumice. Soak and make sure all of the scrub is off then dry feet and massage in some lotion. Then cut nails and file them off square.

I would recomend using the scrub and the pumice once a week if you do not have time for a full soak use it in the shower and rub lotion onto feet nightly, which is what I do, it feels so good and your feet feel so smooth all of the time.
