I know this is kinda :eek:fftopic: but I don't know how many of ya'll are fans of this show on CBS. It's a great show that could be corny and stupid, but also entralling and funny. Anyway, CBS cancelled it yesterday and this has got me pretty steamed. I laughed when I heard of people sending nuts to CBS to show how 'nuts' they are for cancelling this show, but hey, maybe it'll work. I sent some nuts to CBS this morning and how they enjoy them, although I know they probably can't eat them due to security issues. If any other FLers would like to support this unique drama that is being replaced by yet another reality series, please send a letter and include nuts to...

Whaaaat???? I knew it was the end of the season, but cancelled??? :rage:

One of the FEW network programs that I actually looked forward to... That is usually the way it goes most of the time huh? Replaced with yet another reality show? Just what we need to keep our minds numb...

That figures. It's one of the shows I watched too. I worked for Paramount for sixteen years (did some work on Jericho) and I can honestly say if you saw the idiots running it you'ld know why the reality shows are taking over.

It's possible that they cancelled the show and are replacing it with yet another reality show (YAWN) because there is a possibility of an upcoming strike. From the article:

"Hollywood studios are speeding production on movies and TV shows, preparing for a possible strike by writers and more trouble next year when contracts with actors and directors expire.

"TV networks, which are in the midst of planning fall schedules, also might pack their lineups with more reality shows and other unscripted fare as protection against a possible strike."

Anyways, I wish you luck!!

Oh no!

That kills me! Jericho was the most original series on television in years!
Not to mention that the cast was quite extraordinary and the writing was very good too.

*pouts*

I'm already looking for an envelope...

Looks like y'all got your wish

From CBS:

Below is a message from CBS Entertainment.

June 6, 2007

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

Did it move? I recall it only being on Wednesdays at 8 PM eastern.

I didn't care for it anyway, so either way, i don't really care, but congrats to those who wanted it back.

Which Jericho?

I never was attracted by the CBS Jericho, but because of this thread I'm now watching the PBS Jericho. Wow! Really good! I must say it's a little odd to see 1957 portrayed as "period", but I guess that just means I'm old. Excuse me, must go catch the end.
I suppose I should give the CBS one a shot.
