Was not sure exactly where to post this, so MK please place it where it needs to go. Saturday January 10, 2004 Capt. Kimberly Hampton was laid to rest with full military honors in her hometown of Easley, South Carolina. I share this with you because like many others here, the honor and respect we have for our country and those defending our freedom is appreciated. All week the media has been in town and the overwhelming support of our town has been evident by the lowering of flags, store signs with patriotic messages and articles in all our newspapers. She was a well respected student, soldier and an only child. The helicopter she was flying was shot down on January 2, 2004. Please keep her parents in your thoughts and prayers. I know there are many here who know someone who is serving now and I just wanted to take this time to share it with you all. Kind regards, Williamson.

Rest assured that every man and woman serving our great Country has my undying support and gratitude. I am saddened everytime I learn of a new loss of American and coalition life. However, it is easy to lose sight of the individual soldier in favor of the larger picture. Thank you for the reminder by sharing your story about Capt. Hampton. Her sacrifice was not in vain and will not be forgotten.
