There are a few other B&Ns in my area, Naples and Estero, so I'll try to check them out.

Will snoop Barnes & Ignoble (comes up B. Dalton in their store locator nearest to me) while running errands. Usually eschew chain operations when and if possible, but do look forward to the latest ish (on the verge of suscribing).

Redwood City #1971

On Monday, June 25, the B&N on El Camino Real in Redwood City, CA, had no Classic Styles in the Men's Interest section. They told me it had come in on June 15th.

So either the entire stock sold out or it's sitting in the back room.

I prefer to think my fellow citizens of the Peninsula had the good taste to snatch up every copy and read them cover to cover.

Twice.

Christiansburg, VA - Store 2067

No copies on the shelf. When I asked a sales person, she looked it up on the computer and said it wouldn't be out until around July 15th! (It sounded like she was guessing. "It's a quarterly, and the last issue came out in April, so...)

Needless to say, I was quite irritated, since I know darn well it's already out and MK's spending a lot of money to make sure it's prominently displayed.

First, a correction. I reported earlier that the B&N in Glendale, CA (Store 2913) had no Classic Style magazines. A Subsequent visit and inquiry at the customer service desk revealed 3 copies were available on 06/22/07. They were in the "Lifestyles" section, 3rd row, concealed behind some other magazines.

On that same day (06/22/07), the B&N in Burbank, CA (Store 2715) had 10 copies in the first row of the "Men's Interest" section.

Barnes & Ignoble has lost this customer

Check - The "Bookstar" or local "Barnes & Ignoble" on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City had Clasic Style on the second row of the top shelf under Men's interests. This location is in what used to be an art deco movie palace. I took a snapshot of the wall when a snotty Manager informed me "...we don't like pictures taken..." !!! Well, excuse me, since when does one need a model release from a wall? I told him so and reminded him I was a paying customer, but the little twit just repeated himself, only adding more ice this time. I had been going to post a nice shot and blog about reuse of location, etc., but now... I shall cross this chain off MY list! Classic Style can be had from the street vendor newsrack around the corner, a much more golden era-esque experience anyway! Shoulda dropped the magazine on his counter and purchased it around the corner (as I will get any publications from in the future)! Such shoddy treatment is NOT what you are paying for, is it boss?

Update! The Christiansburg, VA B&N (Store 2067) now has it in. It was on the top shelf, second row, all the way to the left. Not very visible.

Glad you posted that, I had been trying to figure out a way to find the store number. Been drivin' me nuts! Nuts I tell ya, nuts!
So, ok.
In Las Vegas, Store #2990, Best on the Boulevard, 3860 Maryland Parkway
has it on display. The top of the mens section (seeing as how the mags are kinda divided into a three tower deally) its on the top section, right hand side as of July 1. That is issue #3.

Can YOU find the Classic Style?

And here is the interior wall of the former theatre
(now a Barnes&Ignoble) which the rude "manager"
seemed to think needed to sign a model release...

Nice, but not worth returning to after such impolite
treatment of a paying customer. There is a nice, large
news stand which pre-dates the bookstore, right
around the corner with Classic Style displayed more prominently.

As of June 28th, Store #2992 in Plymouth Meeting, PA had many copies in the front row of the Men's Interest Section, on the far left. They had a "Featured Title" sign attached to the stack.

First, my apologies for the delayed response. I have been away for a couple of weeks.

I visited B&N Store # 2042 in Holland, MI on June 21 and picked up Issue #3. They had Classic Style in stock, but there are some details in your agreement that they may have "overlooked".

What they did right: They called out the magazine as a "Featured Title" as denoted by the blue sign below the magazine.

What they did wrong: There was a single copy of Classic Style in the "Men's Interest" section as was agreed upon with the stores. I almost left because I couldn't find a copy. (Issues #2 and 3 were both in the Men's Interest section over the past months.) I found Classic Style in the section below, about thigh-high, next to Cowboys and Indians and Countryside. Although readers of these magazines may enjoy your publication, this may not be Classic Style's target audience.

I took the liberty of moving a couple of copies to the "correct" location.
