I have a very good friend who has a Ford 1943 WWII Jeep. He brought it out of storage this weekend, and here are just a few of the photos of it. I want to say, this is the most accurate and cleanest restorations of an ORIGINAL jeep! The shovel, axe, fire extinguisher, gas can, water bag, M1 Garand rack, seats (oiled canvas), tires, engine, glass, lights, placards....are pure authenticy.

I got to DRIVE IT!!! I tell you, what a hoot! It is one of the greatest tools used in WWII, that helped us win, per General Eisenhower.

Enjoy the pictures. Oh, the rifle is my friends, I left my M1 at home, but it looks the same.

That is one cool ride. :jeep: What kind of driving did he let you do? ;)
A guy has one that I see in front of his office on a car carrier everyday on my way in from work. His looks like it has been rode hard and put away wet though. :kick: These have been trickling back into the country from Europe I understand.

Regards to all,

J

Nice jeep, but it needs some mud on it.

Bootiful jeep...

What a cracking example of a WWII jeep. Your pal must have ploughed a lot of time and money into it, and it's payed off! I was looking at some old Willy's Jeeps and the French Army Hotchkiss jeeps (same as the Willys but made post-war for the French Army) at an old garage in Scotland. The owner was telling me that from the mid 80s to the early 90s he was selling A1 condition jeeps for between £2000 and £3000!!! ready for the road. Now that the French army supply has dried up, they are going for a good roadworthy one between £10k and £12k!!!! (turn that into USD and it's scary!!). But would be fun to have one!!

I was in just after they went to Hummers and were toying with the FAVs. But I sure always liked the classic jeep. Reminds me of the old series "Rat Patrol".

Also if they are comming into the US, where?? I'd luv to get my hands on one!!

Very good Andykev (wheres your uniform soldier?) Wish I had the bucks for one of these, no hummers for me, give me the WWII jeep any day.
Yeah I recall the Rat-Patrol, but my favorite was Combat and 12 O'Clock High, can you believe the networks cancel these shows because of violence at the height of Vietnam war?

Great Jeep Andykev. Did you get to drive it with the windshield down? Man, there is nothing like taking the top down and driving a Jeep. I have owned convertibles and my current cars have T-tops, but they pale in comparison to the Jeep as far as open-air driving goes. Definitely the most fun for the money...
