what colors would I look good in?

At the risk of being incredibly vain, I need to know which colors compliment my skin tone. My user pic is a recent photo of me. If that is not enough, I am over 6 feet, have blonde hair, blue eyes and pale complexion.

I have tried holding colors up to my face to see which ones are complementary, but they all look the same to me! If someone has suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

My apologies if this is the wrong thread to breach this question. I am new in town and still learning the lay of the land.

Personally, I recommend a brown suit. Maybe a tie with a little blue to go with the eyes.

Well, it's kind of a small picture, so I can't tell for sure, but it looks like you have some pink undertones to your skin. If that is the case, you might want to be careful with red or pink shirts. Not that you can't wear them, but you might need to be careful with the shade to avoid looking sunburned.

I think shades of blue look lovely on most men. Shirts in a light to a medium shade might look nice. I also think you could wear a light to a medium green shirt without any problem, but I wouldn't swear it. And of course a crisp white shirt looks handsome on most fellas.

Perhaps you should pick up a copy of Alan Flusser's book, which will teach you how to dress for your size, body type, and skin tone. What's is called again?
Or looking around the Ask Andy About Clothes web-site should clear some stuff up.

I would think shades of green (olive-ish, mint), and blues (sky, robin's egg, teal) would look good on you.

Pink might be okay, but check different shades to make sure it doesn't make your complexion look ruddy.

Try peach or lavender/lilac as well. They might set off your eyes.

I've often wondered these things and more about myself, including everything Rover covered in his reply. While reading this thread, I got to thinking once again about asking about a book. Thank you, Cacklewack, for finishing Rover's spot-on suggestion. I just orded Flusser's book from Amazon.

My look is similar to yours, somce, except I'm 5'8" (I'll be 5'9" on the 22nd), a little overweight, and my hair is mildly wavy and more light brown than red.

I'm also paying attention to the advice I read on this thread. I usually wear blue, so I've been thinking that when it's time for me to get a vintage outfit, a blue suit with a gray fedora should work well.
