Looks to me like a printed cloth A-2.

Yes, its a cloth version of the A2 made in El Salvador from re-claimed US materials-hence the older Talon Zip. I suspect it was made within the last 10 years-certainly not in 1945!

Hmmn. The artwork isn't quite there, is it? Though I'd have said as a non-expert that the real no-no in terms of the artwork if you're going for a period look is the big "1945", and the fact that it's printed, not painted on... that of course is before you get into the other historical inaccuracies....

Pity, really, that it wasn't just left plain, as otherwise it's not a bad looking jacket and while I wouldn't have paid out for shipping, at that price in the UK, and assuming the quality is there, it wouldn't look too far out of place as a civilian jacket in and around the 40s, I'd have thought.

You know.... finding these "idiot" listings on ebay is just too easy.

I dont know which is worse the truly dim bulbs who list amazing shite as something they think is real or the tricky cads who know what it is yet make outlandish claims as to its authenticity.

In any event there are too many of these type on greedbay to count.

oh.... I almost forgot the "questioners" with titles like "Outstanding Second World War Flying Tiger Jacket ???" and want to make a few thousand dollars while trying to get an ebay "expert" let them know what it is that they have for sale.

ignorance is profit! ebay proves it

Reported for title keyword spamming. I encourage everyone to do so.

Wow - those nice coat makers made it sooo easy to date the jacket didn't they? If only all vintage clothes had their dates right there? LOL

Any Ebay search (maybe any search on any site) that begins with the word VINTAGE is usually a complete waste of time. Sellers use that word like fishermen use bait. I have clothing that's much older than some of the vintage stuff on ebay. ;)

I noticed the use of "vintage" also. It makes it sound like it is from the 1940s but e-bayers often list items from the '70s and '80s as vintage.
Personally, I don't think it is that bad. I'd easily pay $5.00, that is including P&H.;)

Sincerely,
the Wolf
