In choosing this shirt, I looked for what I wanted, which was a classically '30s styled shirt with a bit of military detail made with a good vintage style and quality construction and cloth- and in a "desert" colour-
-which pointed me to the re-enactor market.
This particular shirt is a repro Afrika Korps shirt-
-but that doesn't make me a Nazi Mycroft.
I have looked all over everywhere.I like the detailing and this shirt is exactly what I want in a shirt- and I'll go as far as to defy anyone to find a more vintage styled "off-the-rack" shirt for around $60.
And yes it's warm enough for my purposes.

...for around $45 though. But some people have doubted his quality.
The only place you'll find Aertex though, which is a classsic historical fabric and along with the KD, are the classic Raj- Indian colonial- desert shirts.

P.S....

I forgot to mention that my shirt(above) is made from linen- it makes a nice shirt and good for warmer climes. Linen has good absorption/wicking/evaporation qualities. It's a pullover style as can be seen in the photo and is very long.
I have the Panama and '30s sunglasses, now I need some matching '30s adventurer trousers... hmmm...

-he's in Elmer, NJ and specialises in German reenactor supplies- might have sold out though. And of course there's no problem getting larger sizes.
-or try any other reenactor place. Mine cost me 45Euro/about $58-
-not a bad price for a shirt that I like-
I've bought a few other similar shirts too- they're obviously not WW2 American, so they're a little bit obscure and the German shirts are an older style too, longer collar, pleated pockets, etc. I like them.
But the shirt in the image above has a tab on the shoulder for securing a rank epaulette and a small hole for the attchment of a metal button-

I got a couple of (really expensive) Orvis field shirts a few years ago.
They're nice, but, because they didn't have a tall, after about 6 months, due to a combination of normal shrinkage and the articulated elbows, the sleeves ended up being about an inch too short.
Too bad, because otherwise they were nice.

Much as I like vintage styles, I can't believe
there's a company that glorifies German
uniforms of WWII. That's pretty insensitive. Or something.

Sorry you feel that way Feltfan-(seriously) I'm not personally anywhere near being a Nazi or a Ku Klucker, I just like vintage and vintage military and this shirt meets my '30s styling criteria.
You(not you) can buy any Nazi uniform ever produced from several sources.
Again- I'm not even a reenactor and it's just a shirt in a vintage style that I like and cannot get anywhere else- the shirt itself has no Nazi connections- it is completely blameless, as am I. And I don't find WW2 German uniforms offensive either- although Nazi ones, almost a blanket 'YES' on that one, although the line between German and Nazi is a little fuzzy in places . Maybe if a member here was talking about wearing full Nazi regalia- then there'd be a problem.
I disclosed my source as requested, if I hadn't, you'd be none the wiser- I'm not personally glorifying anything, apart from myself that is.

I know you didn't point the finger directly or personally at me FF but I just thought to disclaim here and now as my internet access for the next 14 days is limited... etc...

Reality check people ...

Just because a person admires the style and qualities of German Army uniforms does not make them a racist or insensitive ... any more than wearing a leather jacket and fedora makes you a great adventurer. People are carrying political correctness way too far. One day it has got to swing (and hopefully, swing hard) the other way to preserve everyone's mutual sanity.

Reenactors do just that ... reenact. They are not hanging papers, starting riots in beer halls, having massive book burnings, or building concentration camps. They are reenacting historical battles with others of the same interest playing soldiers and sailors from many different countries. To put it in simple terms, the "Nazis" are still the "bad guys" at these events.

German uniforms look good because they were meant too. Hitler hired the best designers of the time. It was all part of the great post-WWI build up ... illegal and totally flying in the face of the Treaty of Versailles though it was ...
Reasoning: a military that looks good boosts morale. After the humilitation of Germany after the Great War, it was dearly needed.

Companies that produce German militaria do not glorify evil any more than gun manufacturers glorify murder. They are simply fulfilling a demand in the marketplace.

I agree...
If something works well or looks good, don't blame the entire country who made it... Not every German was a Nazi. Do you shutter every time you see a Volkswagen? Or a Honda or Toyota if you father or grandfather fought in the Pacific?

Of course not... Now if you wear the Nazi flag.. .well I'd have to agree that's going a bit overboard... The Klan outfit is not a clothing, but a symbol of the Klan.. That too is frowned upon.

But a shirt? The man found a nice shirt that he likes. There's no German Eagles on it... It's a shirt... The most it can do to you is give you bad taste...

I like it, but it's too heavy for me and everyday use....

My 2 cents. And please don't get me started...
