25! That's awesome. I can't imagine. That's almost a different hat for each day of the month. You definitely have to come to the next "Fedora Shootout" where we had about 55 hats at MK's place. We were hoping to break the Guiness record, but we don't know whether there was one or not. But at least the picture below is still noteworthy. Your collection alone will increase last year's number by 50%.

lots a hats

If you invite Art and Andykev, I'm sure it would break a record. I feel like my collection of 22 is pretty paltry compared to what others are amassing. But, I've pretty much tapped out on what I want to collect. Only a very special fedora at a good price would tempt me to add another.

Sure... but you have to take us flying in your bird. In the above picture you are looking at the "Flying Indy's". We used to be the "Flying Elvis's" but we got tired of the long sideburns. :) How many times have we heard that line, right fellas?

Is that the first time that picture has been posted? That is awesome.
You guys should call Guiness (not the brewery, well, maybe...) becasue I think if a record doesn't exist for something you can just kinda make it up, submit it to the Guiness commitee and they decide if its worthy.

Man, what a collection!

you guys

ARE MORE INSANE THAN ME!

I have 45 hats NOW in this bedroom...there are some out in the garage..and I gave 10 or 12 to Art ...for free because he can sell 'em. We have a friendship where I buy lunch, he buys lunch , I buy lunch, he buys lunch...I get a favor, he gets a favor..oh Art? I have an airplane..do you? My bathroom needs remodeling..wanna trade? HHAHHA

No you guys have a great collection. My hat is off to you, and I have about two months of a different hat each day to take off to you! And then there are another 20 that I dumped as part of my education...sold some on Ebay, gave away the rest.

Hey Andy, & guys
I'll join the parade but I don't know if my collection would count. Any rules on that? I actually have weeded my personal collection down to about 20-25 hats ( haven't counted in quite a while) but my overall collection? don't really know but over 500.
Sometimes if feels like I'm THAT far behind in cleaning & blocking ))

Count me in for the next shoot-out. (Hats, that is.)

I'll keep my eyes on the "events" thread for info about the screening. But I believe I will be there.

Dusty,

That Akubra Federation you won from me on Ebay looks great! I love the new, improved brim-shaping that you've done and that dark ribbon and bow from Barron's Hats screams "Raiders"!!!

Good show!

What?!?!?!?!??

You only have 7 hats in your collection????
I bet they are the finest quality, and are perfect in the balanced look you achieve!

It is reassuring to see that you are not afflicted witht he malady HCD "Hattus Compulsive Disorder"... This is the illness of the mind where you compuslively buy and buy and buy hats. There is no apparent cure. It is manifest in long hours on Ebay searching key words like "fedora"' "straw hat", "dobbs", "stetson", ...well the list goes on. There is also a strain placed on family members where the mere sound of the UPS truck muffler and brakes makes wives shiver and spontaneously say "what diid YOU buy NOW?" And the mail man teases you about the all too familiar shaped box which is regularly deposited on your door step.

Yes Michaelson, be grateful that there are the MAGNIFICENT SEVEN for you.....

Others are more like "CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN"...

LOL

No, fortunately I'm not 'touched' with that malady, and my collection is mainly examples of who offers what, so I can talk and advise from hands on experience, rather than grapevine info, and are used in rotation on a daily basis. The one I do NOT have is an Optimo, so that's one I'll just have to read about...(grins)

Now if you were asking me about pocketwatches, now THERE'S a disease I've suffered from for YEARS!!!!:(
